Those are great looking trucks. A better alternative than the Raptor IMO. I have a regular ‘22 XLT with the 5.0 and it has been great. Had a ‘15 with the 3.5EB that I traded in at 175k. It too was excellent. Good luck!

I’m a diehard Toyota fan, but I wouldn’t touch the new twin turbo V6’s.
Give me a V8. I tell the salesman when I go in to Toyota for parts when they ask if I’m interested in any vehicles, “Not until you bring the V8 back.”

I've owned them all. I think a guy really needs to dive in to the specific model and Drivetrain. Plus, factor in for every 15 guys that own the truck and don't comment that its been a good truck, Its human nature for the smaller % of people that had problems to complain- especially in the internet age. Any problem and we hear about it.
My 2019 ram 1500 with the 5.7 has been bullet proof. It makes sense the new Hurricane motor has some issues- thats been the case since I've been alive- every new model has its quirks that have to be worked out. The list of those goes on and on- heck look at all of the problems Ford had when they intro'd the Eco Boost motors. Now a decade or so down the road they have worked most of the kinks out of it.
I worry about the longevity of the very high output small displacement motors in a pickup. The 6.4 Ram and 6.8 Ford have proven to be some of the most bulletproof motors on the road in a 3/4 ton.
If a guy wants power in a half ton, and tows, I think those Hybrid engines are going to be the ticket....but it might be a couple years before they are bulletproofed.

As a guy that doesn't care the brand on truck, not brand loyal at all, it's hard to decipher what the most reliable driveline is. To me, from reading many anecdotes, it seems like the Ford 5.0 is the way to go right now. Did they fix the Tundras though? There was obviously a lot of noise about their new engine when it was first introduced.
No, they have not fixed the Tundra. Still seeing engine failures in the 25’s. Manufacturing debris my ass.

Couple spun mains but nothing like the 22-23s. There is a 215 oahe thread going on tundras.com about the engine recall. Very very few issues with 25s.
Same engine in my wife’s gx 550, zero issues. Guys worry way to much. Great thing is if one would have an issue, Toyota will take care of it unlike the big 3.
I’m glad that has been your experience, it has not been mine. Toyota has been miserable to deal with. I’ve had to fight them to get every warranty claim handled, and there have been many.

I used to agree with you. This Tundra is different. Major fail. Lack of tow hooks says it all…
