Alabama didn’t deserve to be in. They lost to Vanderbilt, i’ll give them Tennessee, and one of the worst looking Oklahoma teams in the last 30 years.
Lane Kiffin and ole miss need to shut up Home lost to Kentucky. Come on man. LSU and Florida weren’t exactly powerhouse programs this year either.

Can you with a straight face, say Bama would be down to a bad OU team 24-3 after 3?
Proof is in pudding for sure. We had some bad games. AND Bama beat the favorite in the tournament and 3 other teams ranked in playoff top 25.

How many did SMU win? Indiana?

After the games last night and today, you have zero leg to stand on. Your proposition was proven false

I think that's a step far but dont doubt SC and Ole Miss in addition to Bama would have been more competitive than SMU. Indiana put up a solid season, couldn't beat top level teams but put away everyone else. I cant look at bama's schedule and see 7 games Indiana would be expected to lose this year.
Ya i got a little carried away adding Alabama but none of us thought Washington / Michigan / Alabama would have those seasons.
I think the middle weights of sec are what make this conference so tough. Any of those Kentucky/ Missouri's / lsu type teams can ruin your playoff hopes.
Indiana was given the vote bc of exactly what you said. Win the games you should, but Indiana only played one top 10 team and lost it…
( i did have to look this up bc poor memory ) LSU played a 4 game stretch Alabama Texas a&m Arkansas and ole miss with two of those that were ranked and one was earlier in the season

I 1000p agree that argument on strength of opponents versus logic of 3 strikes ( losses ) you lose your chance to be national champion.. but some of the teams that only lose 2 games don’t face the competition as sec.

Hey if you wanna claim to be the best worst team in the playoff, have at it . Pretty good sell with 3 losses to back it up.

When did Bama beat Oregon? Georgia isn't the favorite and they are going to lose to ND.

Can’t claim it because the playoff wasn’t the best 12 teams.

That’s your argument? Step back and think about it….”na uh. Y’all beat the 2nd best team not the first!” Wow.

Alabama absolutely didn’t deserve to be in the playoff. But there were at least 4 teams that were demonstratively better than SMU. Just google up Vegas line for any of them bs SMU. If the committee wanted the 12 best teams they failed. Now we have the results to prove it

Vegas lines are set to get equal money on both sides so the house never loses. Their lines are to make them money.

Georgia State had some bad losses but they did beat the mighty Commodores from the SEC. The same Commodores that beat the team that beat the #2 seed in the whole thing. They deserve a little press here.

Where's Michigan?? They had some bad losses sure. They also beat the team that is currently clowning SEC #2.

That’s the oldest most not true statement on lines of all time.

You don’t truly believe they have nothing to do with who is most likely to win the game do you?

I'm old school. Win your games. Don't argue losses trying to get in.

I think Ohio State is one of the best teams in the country I don't think they deserve to be in a playoff for the NC. We don't need a 12 team playoff. 4 was fine. Now the same arguments that we had for #5 have simply turned to #13.

The semi final games were pretty well a joke, a lot of blow outs. Now we are getting more of the same and the good teams have yet to play.

Then why do lines move?

Lines are set up for betters. But to say they don’t tell you who is favored to win the game is fallacy.

Look how good the lines turn out to be. When looking at a large enough number of lines together the actual outcomes of the games will almost mirror the lines.
