Neither one of the AFC teams can beat Philly. Chiefs won't get home cooking on calls now. NFL got their storyline to promote now, the Andy Reid bowl. Philly is playing on a whole different level than either the Chiefs or Bengals. 58 with the late hit didn't help, but neither did Burrow throwing picks or intentionally grounding the ball either.

Chris Jones says otherwise

Is the NFL rigged now? At least to an extent? Seriously asking. At least in the playoffs?

I don't think so. But a bad call (or a couple of bad calls) can definitely influence the game- good for one team, bad for the other.

When an entire play is played and both teams are heading off the field and the punting units coming on- then a ref resetting the clock is no big deal, when further he says and replay the down- well.................. that just sucks

That replay the down deal was definitely a cluster and very confusing. It was due to the game clock running when it should have been stopped. Official tried to prevent the play but wasn't recognized initially. It was poorly executed by the officials but the down replay was nonetheless legit as this ESPN article explains here:

I'm a fan of neither team. The late hit didn't help but you can't tell me the other missed calls in the last 4 minutes weren't suspect at best.

Even Romo said the running back was within the range on that grounding.

I also just put 100 on the eagles by ten, their coach is from near where I grew up.

NFL GETS
Andy Reid bowl
Two black quarterbacks
Kelce brothers

Enough said.

appears I'm not the only one that thought it was $hit show of reffing- from Sporting News

It's a reality the NFL officials are going to miss calls during the course of a game. But when multiple missed calls all go one way, fans watching the game take notice.

In the fourth quarter alone of Sunday's Bengals vs. Chiefs AFC championship, multiple borderline calls and non-calls, plus a confusing officiating error, all went the Chiefs' way, much to the chagrin of Bengals coach Zac Taylor and his team.

The holding call against Cincinnati after Mahomes was sacked on play after the redo was also BS. Rather than 4th down, it went to 1st. Now the late hit out of bounds, was stupid, stupid, stupid. What would have been a 57 yard field goal attempt turned into 41 yards. Game over.

No doubt there were some questionable calls, as there are in every NFL game. No team is ever 100% happy with the officiating. As far as the grounding play, I like Romo but he often just makes off the cuff comments and then when a replay of a play contradicts him, he just sort of mumbles something or says my bad. He's nowhere near always right so who cares what he said. That play was indeed grounding; the ball landed 8 yards from the Cincy receiver (Perine). The language in the grounding rule says the ball must land "in the vicinity" of an eligible receiver to not be grounding, which was not the case there.

I feel for the guy that made that late hit. To me it was a lose lose situation. If he doesn't put forth that amount of effort, Mahomes gets another sneaky 5-6 yards. It seems to happen frequently when they let up on going after a qb. Now he commits to getting to him, but the qb turns out of bounds, and he gets the unnecessary roughness. No way to win in that situation.

That happened I believe in a college game. Qb faked going out of bounds. Player let up QB got another chunk of yards.

Don't want the officials involved, take it out of their hands. Bad calls happen every week, officials are human.

NFL style of play makes the officiating errors stand out. Conservative play, keep it within one score and try to be the last team with the ball.
