I’m planning an elk hunt in September and was wondering what you guys take for meals/snacks? Not 100% sure if we are day hunting or hunting off our backs yet so what we bring will be based off of that. But shoot me some ideas on what food to bring!

Trail mix, sunflower seeds, and nutter butters I like for while I’m out hunting during the day

Base camp food is the best. We eat rib-eye steaks every other day, smoked pork chop, salmon, spaghetti, home made pizza, walleye, I eat better elk hunting than I eat at home. At night we take out pre made breakfast burritos and just warm them up and go hunting. Durning the day is peanutbutter and bacon on tortillas, trail mix, apples, candy bars.
always a nightcap of some rum or beer.

When backpacking I like a granola/dried fruit combo mixed with protein powder and powdered milk. Make several of those in a baggie and simply add water in the morning. Give you all you need and breaks the boring Oatmeal breakfast. Dinner for me is usually the Mountain House freeze dried like most folks.
