I had a tri-fold. I never had the truck long enough to have long term type issues. I liked it. That being said I have a topper now and prefer the topper. The trifold limits your truck bed space and when the trifold is “open” it still sticks out 2.5 feet or so and limits truck bed space.I'm ready to purchase a folding hard tonneau cover, but every one seems to have negative reviews. I'm hoping to get some real world experience from the 'slide.
I have one and loved it when I lived in Charleston. Now that Im in AK I frequently have to go around the edge with a heat gun to get in the bed. It has become a huge annoyance.I have a retrax aluminum. It's great, no complaints...lockable, I can stand on it, can't be cut open, and I got the one with the rails, PRO XR, so I can install a basket, ect over the bed...Really nice yak on top all my gear locked in the bed...you loose a little space up front for the can, but you can still stash firewood, water, tools underneath.
