FNG here... already made a few posts before I saw this section of the forum.

Thanks to Uncle Sam, I cannot really call anywhere home for the past ten plus years as I end up moving every 2-3 years. Started in 2014 working on the F-15, shifted to the F-22, cross-trained to MQ-9 Reaper aircrew, and most recently commissioned into Acquisitions (kind of everywhere on the spectrum). The good side? I get the opportunity to see numerous states and experience hunting as a local in that state and my home state of Alaska. Currently in New Mexico for another two years before who knows where comes calling.

My hunting style is 4–12-day backpack hunts: no day stuff. Normal grounds are Alaska for caribou, black bear, grizzly, brown, sheep, and goats. As a backpack hunter, I am in the ultralight crowd, always counting those grams. Currently have my pack weight, with rifle, down to around 35 pounds for a 5-day hunt.

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new NM member.
