Grew up upland quail hunting with uncles and cousins. Habitat loss pretty much killed quail in NW Georgia and hunting wild quail in South Georgia/North Florida is truly a rich man’s game now. So we started traveling every year to find a better upland experience, tried grouse in Maine, ducks in Arkansas (not upland, but gave a shot), settled on pheasant as the best upland hunting experience where one can still do wild bird hunt without breaking the bank. Tough, beautiful, smart birds, especially later in season. Preferred northern SDakota or North Dakota….crops down earlier, a little cooler.

Also hunt whitetail and the dove opener every year.

More into medium distance shooting now for a new money pit. NRL hunter type stuff.
