I just use standard, keyed masterlocks. My case is the Cabela's two rifle case but it's very similar to that Pelican. Is there a reason you prefer the cable type lock? As far as I understand it, the locks must keep the case from being opened enough to access the guns. The flexible cables might have some play in them and cause issue if someone is picky. I'll get a picture of my case and locks.

Just that they're a bit more forgiving, size wise, for the thick brackets on cases. Enough people have the 1750 though (or similar) that maybe I don't need to play it safe like that. Keyed masterlocks eh? Sounds good to me. As I mentioned I'll carry some tsa locks with me because I can't imagine not getting hassled at the airport haha.

Here's the locks I use. Obviously the Pelican might be a little different but I had to get the longer shank locks for this case. Still, not too bad as I think I got a three pack from Home Depot fairly cheap. Since they are keyed, I always bring both keys on trips. One is in my carry-on backpack so I can easily access it. The other set I usually either give to someone else or bury in my other carry-on luggage.

When locked, this is as far as it opens.

While I have only traveled twice with a rifle I used a TSA approved case. Back then it was a sturdy diamond plate one with a solid pin going through the locks and my Master lock ( Combo ) attached at the end. I had no problems at DIA or in Anchorage. But flying home from southern Oregon at a very small airport in Medford things were different. Apparently they do not see stuff like this every day so keep that in mind. Arrive early and obide by there rules and all will be fine. Not a bad idea to carry TSA locks just in case!
