I have a 2015 model of the exo 3500. I have a delta flight coming up soon and would like to use it as my carry on. The max length on deltas site states a max length of 22 inches. The exo is 26. So my question is has anyone flown with one and did you have any problems with delta.

Thanks.

I've seen much bigger packs get through. Don't overstuff it, nothing illegal in it, and don't put it in their dang measuring device. You'll be fine.

I've definitely flown with packs bigger than the allowed dimensions, so long as its not to obvious you'd generally get away with it. Just don't stuff it too full would be my suggestion.

It just depends on the gate agent working the flight. I've seen big bags get on with no problem, I've also seen gate agents randomly pick bags to measure.

You should be ok though. As stated above, don't over stuff it.

I've flown to Calgary with an Exo 3500, and to Hawaii with a Kifaru Markhor without any issues. As was said, just don't overpack them. I also brought a Guide lid, and slid it under the seat.

I took the belt off mine and stuffed it in the pack and flew with it no problem. Worst case scenario, they'll gate check it if you're on one of the dinky little commuter planes.

Definitely don't ever use the measuring device. I've traveled with large packs and have seen people bring unbelievable stuff on planes. Hopefully you will be able to maybe stuff it under your seat but it will stick out quite a bit. Keep in mind that if you have to put it in the overhead, it will have to go sideways, which will annoy others, especially if you aren't in a good boarding group.
