I have one of these in my meathooks right now. Pretty badass!

They have a scope version. They even have one for use coupled to your smart phone. I can see 2 second long footsteps on the carpet, studs in my wall behind the drywall, the heat signature next to my house from the warm air from my A/C coil, electronics, and my dogs hate me patrolling around. Textures throw it off a bit. You can see drafts around doors and windows and heat that the sun shined on. From a Dragon missle thermal imager that takes up a whole medium ALICE pack that I have carried to this is pretty amazing. Where will we be in 5 years?

Walking around outside with this stuck to your face messes with your brain housing group. Better to set up in an OP. Perimeter security or predator hunting would be awesome. I took a whizz and was amazed how it showed up. Even one long blade of grass registered. I think range is limited without magnification. There are 6 levels: white, black and four red each with brightness adjustments and image capture.

One of these and a clip-on NV scope mounted in front of the day optic would be the ticket for a varminter. The FLIR would surely be the ticket looking for that bow killed deer at dusk.

How much are these things?

Alot. They make a Flir Scope also with Night vision. Researched these pretty heavily. Id love to have one http://www.flir.com/hunting-outdoor/display/?id=62677 That is the scoped version. On my hog hunt our land owner had a military grade Thermal that was just completely cool. it was a 4500$ handheld unit and you could see as far as the lanscape would let you. I definitely want one but it would more for home security for me over hunting. TK great idea though. This would be great for tracking your kill down at dusk. If you already have an arrow or bullet in it and it comes down to loosing your meat or finding it I am all about gaining some advantages there.
