And something I can toss in the backpack for a day hunt and not be too heavy.

Fenix - haven't kept up on models, but something with an 18650.
Definitely this. We have a place we duck hunt every year, lost my flashlight that year. Next year spotted it in the middle of the long road out to the ponds. Got the truck stopped and backed up and grabbed it, hit the switch and it fired up and used it the rest of the weekend.

Sofrin has been running a sale, there is a thread herecon Rokslide about it; just do a search here on Rokslide. It's titled Sofrin $10.99 sale. Several options at that price and yes, it's still ongoing.

Fenix really do work well. I have a handful of them for work and adventures. I did just order some of the Sofrin lights on sale, but haven't got them yet. I doubt they're as good, but they sure are cheap. Should be good for around the house if nothing else

Fenix LD30 for me, 18650 battery, 1600lm, decent run time.
This lives in my truck with the sheath attached to the back of my head rest.

Sofrin is clutch. I used two (one at camp, 1 for hiking) for 6 days this year and both were over 50% battery. Can be extremely bright (in the thousands of lumens)

I have a few finix flashlights but prefer zebra lights to them.

I agree with everyone on 18650 batteries. Find somewhere that recycles old laptop batteries and see if you can take a few. Pull the old batteries apart and you’ll have multiple 18650 cells to use. I like buying a couple good quality cells to take when I’m doing something more serious that just day to day stuff.

I was going to post a link to the one I like but it seems to be on backorder.

Check out Olight too.

Ive used a lot of Sure Fire lights in the past but a friend of mine told me about a company called HeloTex. I got a couple of their lights and they are great. I have the G4 and a G2. They hit well above the price they ask for them. Its well worth looking them up.

If you go to Fenix site they give you 10% as new customer. If you check out all the options sometimes they include a second battery. I’ve bought 4-5 items from them in last year. Some models will use rechargeable as well a the c123 .

I just snagged a sorting light along with a headlamp. If it’s like the other lights I have - I will be more than enough and for the price I paid I don’t care what happens to it as long as it works.

That being said I have used streamlight for years. They have always worked for me
