Flashlight suggestions for backpack/truck

I’m a el cheapo guy , but also like a good handy tool that last so I bought a couple of GEAR LIGHT head lights, one for the daypack, truck , shaving kit,
2 Pak =$20
They take AAA batteries, so I don’t have to worry about recharging on week long trips with no power
I don’t recharge my batteries when I’m out hunting. The run times are so long a couple good batteries will last the whole trip. The last long trip I had 4 batteries and switched to batter #2 after 8 days just so I knew I had a fresh battery. I gave one of the unused batteries to a buddy using 123a batteries and converted him to 18650s after using the one I gave him.

This is from the zebra light web sight.

Light Output (runtimes)
  • High: H1 1616 Lm (PID, 2.5 hrs) or H2 1010 Lm (PID, 2.9 hrs)/579 Lm (PID, 3.1 hrs)/305 Lm (5.3 hrs)
  • Medium: M1 147 Lm (12.5 hrs) or M2 65 Lm (27.5 hrs)/26.4 Lm (2.7 days)/9.9 Lm (7.1 days)
  • Low: L1 3.4 Lm (17.5 days) or L2 1.06 Lm (2 months)/0.3 Lm (3.8 months)/0.08 Lm (5.4 months)

I like to run on 65 or 25 lumens. It’s nice to know you have the high output lumens when you need them but all too often you don’t.

The zebra lights are more refined and programmable which is why I like them so much.

They have gone up in price a little. I bought the one listed above for $90 (now $100) and then another that only runs up to 1200 lumens on sale for $50.

Go to your local Lowe’s type home store and look at the COAST G32. Doesn’t cost a fortune, is metal, has a hat clip,is tail switch activated both full on and pressure hold and takes two AA batteries very durable I have been using one for the last three years and I am very hard on gear. The batteries last a good time using a quality brand, throw a few extra batteries in your hunting pack and your all set in case of an emergency. Also has a adjustable beam either spot or flood pattern.
