i believe it would go behind the neck/head when not in use...? i could be wrong

I wore it a bit last year. The facemask is not removable but does go behind your head when not in use. I didn't find it annoying behind my head but to each their own I suppose. I didn't use the face mask at all on fall hunts but this turkey season that will change. The outer face has a more "slick" shell type feel to it over the Kalamath. I've been liking it a lot, it's comfortable and has a good athletic type cut but not too restricting.

Hard to put a value on it. I would say 10% more because the fabric cuts the wind a little better.

I just tried them on back to back for a fresh opinion. Arm length is the same if not a touch longer on the Origin. Length is the same on both. The bottom of the shirt may be ever so slightly larger on the Origin and kalamath.. like in terms of an athletic fit the Origin seems to have a touch more room around the waist. They're extremely similar in cut

How warm is it compared to similar pieces? I need a new fleece hoodie and have one of these in my cart, but figure I will add to that order and finish it after work this evening

I honestly cannot believe it's priced the same as the Patagonia R1 Techface Fleece. The R1 series is the absolutely the worlds best performing fleece midlayer bar none, and Firstlite matches their price. Crazy!

I'm not a FL hater, I think their base layers are up there with the best and their Whitetail kit is my go to in late Fall Minnesota hunts. But I would look elsewhere for a fleece midlayer priced this high.

Is it me or does First Lite keep mimicking things already done by Sitka, Kuiu, etc.? Have they had anything unique/innovative that they were first to market with? I own a lot of there stuff - not a hater. Just an observation.

Man, I’m not gonna lie — I love the first lite base layers and generally really like the first lite/meat eater crew — but I do tend to agree with the idea that there’s something kind of disingenuous about just copying the fanatic hoody or kuiu zip off bottoms and then acting like they’ve changed the game.

That’s my only gripe about the Klamath. That addition would really upgrade it.
