How’s it been for everyone so far?

The Origin hoodie is very impressive after using it for almost a year now and it’s quickly becoming my favorite layering piece. Now for years I’ve been a grid fleece mid-layer only guy and very happy with the performance. However, for the last few years, First lite has challenged the mid layer top spot. After a season of using the sawtooth hybrid i realized just how much more versatile it was over the klamath. I like the full zip, hand pockets and added warmth. Now after a season with the origin, it has all the positives of the sawtooth but much lighter. Its not full zipper but its deep and great for dumping heat. Overall I think its First Lites best mid layer piece both in elk country and whitetail woods.

I’ve had one for a few months. I love it. The material is similar to Kuiu Strong Fleece, just a little softer. It’s got great warmth for a midlayer, nice DWR treatment, and a great athletic fit. It’s not going to stop wind at all, but it serves well for an outerlayer when active; I pair it with a wind stopping vest, often. The features make it very versatile. I don’t think it dries quite as fast as other mid-layer options, but the fabric is much more durable than something like the Ambient from Sitka. The zipped kangaroo pocket should be standard on all hoodies, in my opinion. The best comparison is to Kuiu’s strong fleece 260; it’s softer, a not quite as warm. The origin hoody is silent. I think it excels for a whitetail layer.
I also own a Stronglfleece 260. How does the sleeve length compare between the Origin and Strongfleece? Thanks
