Fixed crawl problem- help a semi noob

This question will probably demonstrate my lack of knowledge in this area. I’ve thought for a while now that my fixed crawl is probably a little longer than it needs to be based on hearing what other people are shooting and just by looking at how far down my fingers were, along with some other things, but I never measured it. Well I’ve been shooting almost a 2 3/4” crawl for, oh idk, a year and a half.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but that seems astronomical. I think I ended up there trying to avoid a super long point on, but at this point I have almost no doubt it’s behind some of my tuning issues.

I would love to hear some thoughts on what processes people have for tuning and ensuring a realistic point on for eastern whitetail. I’d like to avoid huge 12” gaps at shorter distance if I can, and if I can keep my current arrow setup that would be ideal. My primary goal is reducing my crawl and shooting a straight flying arrow. Someone point me in the right direction here. Below are my specs:

21” riser, long limbs
42lbs at my 31.5” draw
300 spine arrow cut to 32 1/4”
300 grains up front, 650 grains total weight
Current point on is about 15 yards

I like my point on around 25yds, is there a reason you want yours at 15?

With a 25yd point on your adjustment between 30 to 10 will be pretty minimal (baring any anomalies in your trajectory). That may bring your crawl up a bit. That being said a 31.5” draw may be a different animal entirely

That does seem very long. Are you using 2 nock points so the arrow isn't slipping down the string? My fixed crawl is about half that for point on at 25. Can you shorten your arrows by much?
