Fishing in Wy and MT. Tailwaters or small creeks

Hoping to fish some in a few weeks but I know it might be tough to find water that is not high and dirty. Those that fish---what about the Green tailwaters behind Fontenelle? I thought being a tailwater it might be OK. I've fished there before but it has always been late August or September. Would fishing some of the really small creeks be good? Fished some pretty small creeks last August and they were loaded with trout. Small trout but plenty of fun with an ultralight fly rod and they are tasty grilled in foil with lemon, butter and dill.

Thought I would camp at Weeping Rock if any fishable waters there. I'll probably be there somewhere around the last week in June.

Also headed to western Montana but I am pretty sure that water will be a mid to late July proposition from what I have read so far.

Lots of folks camping and atv riding near Fontenelle, north into the forest.
They did some work on that reservoir and dam so perhaps the fishing is better. You can find some different species of trout in the streams and lakes north on the forest.

Thanks wytx. Since I have always been there later in the year, I am not sure what to expect. On my trips there were very few people and fewer fishermen.

Good to hear about Idaho. May have to swing over that way. Thanks!

Back in the day I fished below Fontenelle a ton, wasn't as popular back then, I've heard it's a little busier these days but still way fewer people than down below the Gorge this time of year. There's some excellent tributaries that feed into the green up that way as well, smaller water but still hold some fatties. Also above Fontenelle is really good especially up around Pinedale but don't know what the water levels look like right now. Was actually going to hit it up there last week but got sidetracked by some pretty cool little high alpine lakes in the Medicine Bow National Forest, caught a ton of brooks and small cutties up there, good times.
