He said there are a few sporting goods stores in Fairbanks that would have them.
Yeah, I can think of 3 that would be able to get them for you pretty easy if you don't got to Fish and Game. Thats awesome. I'm in Fairbanks/North Pole, I'll be Moose Hunting here this year but going down to Anchorage area for my Sheep Hunt. Message me if there is anything I can help with in the Fairbanks area.

I spoke with a guy at Alaska game and fish about a month ago and asked him what he thought about buying my locking tag and license ahead of time. He advised me to wait and just buy them when I arrive in Fairbanks. He said that because of Covid, he wouldn't take the chance of buying the tags early and possibly losing the money. He made it sound like it's pretty quick and simple to get them once I'm there.

I get the COVID situation but am thinking positive. I am in the health care industry so maybe that gives me the positive outlook as we are obviously trending down in cases. The last thing I want to be worried about is getting tags the day I land in Fairbanks knowing I am catching a flight out the next morning. I prefer to eliminate as many “what if’s” as possible. Maybe if this wasn’t the first for me I might think differently.
2 months from today is the season opener - wow it is coming quick

Thanks for the offer! I'll be staying at Sophia Station the night before flying into camp with not very much spare time. So I'm thinking I will probably go ahead and buy the tags online and hope for the best. I will have a couple days in Fairbanks on the tail end of my hunt. I'm sure me and my hunting partner would love to find some good seafood if you have any recommendations.
I see that you are going after sheep for the first time this year. Best of luck to you!

From above FBX is Fairbanks.

Fairbanks is pretty small and we have a Sportsman’s Warehouse just a few minutes from Sophie Station (7 minutes?). But it’s not a bad idea just to get them ahead of you can.
I’ll think about that.... we have some seafood here but being this far inland it isn’t as good as the coast. I’ll send you a message for sure.
I am! It’s exciting, I’m 4 months out and still looking for a hunt partner so that’s a bit scary, but I’m rolling with it. Need to keep finalizing my gear. Good luck to you as well!!!
