First time mountain hunt in the Alberta Rockies in November - what are the most crucial pieces I'll need?

I've got a hunt coming up in the Alberta rockies, and they've already had a ton of snow dumped on them, as well as below zero temps every day. My sleep system is pretty solid but I'm bouncing back and forth on my day clothing layers. I've got a ton of whitetail gear so I was going to wear my Sitka Stratus bibs (they're surprisingly mobile) with a merino layer underneath, and a pair of Timberlines for when it gets colder for my bottoms. For the top I was going to use my Stratus jacket with a few merino layers underneath as a base. I'll also have a puffy down jacket, and rain/shell gear for added layers. What am I missing here? I've been playing with getting an additional super puffy jacket for if it gets crazy cold, but it would take up a bunch of space.

Thanks in advance for the help.

That is one seriously cold mofo area and time frame for a high country hunt! But it sounds like you are geared right. At this point I'd focus on the access: the most comfortable and warmest gloves you can get, and get the feet under control. Darn tough or wigwam wool socks and good 800 or 1000 gram Thinsulate boots.
Don't forget the balaclava and/or turtle fur for the neck and the quaility dome warmer. Ton of heat loss occurs right there.
Good luck!

My hunt is from November 1-7 so it'll be plenty cold. I've locked down a good set of gloves, and although my boots are only 200 gram boots, my feet get crazy hot when I'm moving. Even when I'm stand hunting in -15C I only wear a set of merino liners and then a slightly thicker pair of socks. I actually used to layer up too many pairs but found I couldn't get any good pockets of hot air in there, so I scaled back and it worked out. I was thinking of some kind of face mask or neck gaiter, but now I'll buy one for sure! Thanks

You definitely need a “Super” Puffy. I took the Sitka Kelvin WS and it was adequate. A regular puffy would not have been adequate. I also lived in puffy pants when not hiking. I wore a Carhardt mask and First Lite Neck Gaiter. Don’t forget good mittens. It was -10 a couple nights and I about froze in my zero degree Kifaru Slick Bag. Was wishing I brought my Mountain Hardware -40 Bag. It’s no joke up there this time of year. Good luck...

Also will add, my feet froze in my 200 gram Lowas when not mobile. Was wishing I had warmer boots. Don’t worry so much about your clothing while mobile. What you have looks fine. Its when you’re “immobile” when the freezing sets in.

Good to know. I was thinking of bring 2 puffys: 1 for when I'm hiking, and then a much bigger one for when I'm stationary. I was also thinking of getting some boot covers, but now I'll probably look more into it. Luckily I'll be bringing my Marmot -40 bag, so no worries there.

What are you going to be hunting? We Outfit just west of where you are headed in B.C. and depending on the game hunted clothing really varies..... both downs are a really good idea along with puffy pants mittens and beanie.
I also start using heated insoles in my boots come the first of November.

I'd get mittens. I'd look into a pair of neos overshoes if you are good with the 200 grams.

You're jumping in the deep end on weather potential.

I had a lightweight synthetic (Kevin Active) for hiking and the Heavyweight Kelvin WS for when I was stationary. It was a perfect combo for my hunt. That bag should be the ticket. Definitely think the boot thing through.
