Morning all,

I am looking for recommendations for a quality binocular. Iven been using the low end vortex type for years and years. They do well, but I feel like I'm missing a lot when glassing at distance. especially in the shadows. I have 2 big hunts this year and want to get mid to upper tier set that will do well and last for a long time . I thinking in the $1000-$1500 range.

10x42 is my preferred size. I dont need to be able to score an elk at 600 yards, but id like to be able to tell the difference between cows and bulls.

thank you

I’ve got a pair of Leica geovid Rs and my wife has a pair of the Kowa Genesis 10.5s (shoutout to Doug at Cameraland for the giveaway)

If you want rangefinding capability get the leicas.. If you don’t need the rangefinder get the Kowas…. the image in the Kowas is absolutely fantastic

Appreciate all the responses. Really surprised I haven't seen Maven mentioned as they seem super popular. Also wondered what everyone's opinion is on buying from the classified versus buying new...

I don't need the range finding capabilities as I am primarily a archery hunter. And would rather keep the electronics out of my binoculars.

Ditto on the used swarovski. I bought a pair from a rokslide member, and they served me well in both of my hunts this season.

There was some 10x32 NL Pure's floating around the classifieds for around $1700 I think. I have a pair of 8x32s and they're a joy to carry and hand hold. Personally I'd rather carry low power alpha glass vs higher power lower quality glass.

As a Swarovski fanboy, I would echo the call to look for a set of used Swaros.

You are correct though in your question about the Mavens. Seem to be very good glass for the money to my eyes. Even though my binos and many scopes are Swarovski or Kahles, I also have several Mavin rifle scopes along with a Maven spotter and rangefinder.
