Does anyone have experience with both? Looking to see how they compare for hot weather.

I wore the Tiburon pants & shirt last season for September archery in 80+ degree weather. I was extremely impressed with the material, I didn't think I would ever need to purchase another warm weather piece of clothing again because of how comfortable it was in high heat. The only draw back being it holds scent, and after an 8 day backpack hunt the Tiburon material reeks.

But now that First Lite has released their new warm weather Aerowool line I am intrigued. Anyone have any insight on how they will compare?

I know the Aerowool is only available for pre-order right now so hopefully someone here was involved with testing and can chime in.

i dont think you can beat the tiburon pant for hot weather. i bowhunt year round in 90 degree temps and unless youre in shorts with the hipzips they cant be beat for regulating your temps. the tiburon top though to the aerowool top is kind of like apples to oranges. i prefer the kuiu 125 and 145 half zip merino to the tiburon shirt already. the tiburon top gets stinker and doesnt absorb any sweat so i find my back turns into this annoying slickness of sweat under my pack. the merino will absorb that sweat and take much longer to get stinky. i find myself using the tiburon top as a lightweght 2nd layer on cool mornings (65+ for us : ) and then going merino top for the rest of the day. kuiu ultra merino and FL aerowool would be the apples to apples comparison to make imo

If I'm not mistaken, the Aerowool are base layers and the Tiburon are not.

Your right, which makes even less sense to me. Why would you want to wear a mesh shirt as a second layer? Maybe to protect your merino?

As mentioned. Not many will have experience with the Aerowool since it hasn't been available to public yet. Agree with the above though, comparing a base layer to outerwear is like apples and oranges.

Maybe a better comparison would be the Kanab 2.0 and Tiburon pants?

I would also like to hear more about the Aerowool. I like the tiburon pants I have two pairs. Been thinking about pulling the trigger on a tiburon shirt. I hunt CA summer weather 90-100+ degrees and Utah archery in the 90's usually. Even the light kuiu merino is too hot for me in this kind of weather.

imo when it gets 90-100 plus the most comfortable top is a synthetic top like the peloton. (size up 1 size if you do go that route) Sometimes i will wear the 145 half zip merino because the half zip vent but i like synthetic is a little cooler than merino when it gets that hot. its tough if you are on backpacking trip you might have trade off running a little hotter in the merino for less stink down the road. I like the merino and peloton both over the tiburon top bc the tiburon top doesnt absorb sweat and i end up sweating faster than the top can breath so i end up drenched in my own sweat and i hate that feeling. esp with a pack on. plus to the tib top is its only 5 oz. hope that helps

Big fan of the Tiburon pants... shirt not so much. Picks up odor quickly, doesn't absorb sweat and IME isn't much cooler than merino. I hunt early season archery in Utah and it can be toasty on opening day. On the really hot days I revert back to cotton shirts.
