If you guys don't mind me asking, what's your height, weight and the size you're wearing? I'm getting ready to make an order but I can't find a place that has them in stock. I've watched most of the videos I can find and I'm still on the fence. BTW I'm 5'10" and 185.

I'm 5'8" 175lbs. Everything I order from FL is medium, and there is more than enough room for expansion. The Llanos seem to run smaller though, so if I were to order some more of those I would go with large. I just ordered the puffy yesterday in medium and am looking forward to it showing up at my door.

The Stormtight I have is a very generous medium. I have worn a Merino T, a Sitka Traverse Shirt, and a MontBell Thermawrap Park under it with no issues. Plenty of space. Even the binos fit under. I am 5'11" 165lbs. My larger hunting buddy has tested the jacket as well and I just about had to fight him to get it back. ;) If the Uncomphagree is sized the same you should be good to go. Did you try S&S Archery or High Mountain Outfitters (HMO)? I've been looking for some Dry Earth Kanab pants to test out and HMO had a lot of First Lite stuff in stock (at least via their website). S&S even has a Rokslide discount if you ask Steve for it.

Sorry didn't phrase that right. I meant I'm getting ready to make an order and haven't been able to find a place to try the first lite stuff on.

Anyone know what the weight of the fill is on the Uncompahgre? Also curious on the total weight on the jacket and how well it compresses? For example: The Patagonia Micro Puff Hoody has 100-g PrimaLoft® Sport insulation and weights 18ozs. I think my now discontinued Mont-Bell Thermawrap has 80-g.

Thanks!

My size large weighs 19 oz. Not sure on fill weight. Compresses easily into it's designated pocket but could easily be compressed more. The synthetic insulation compresses MUCH better than my old spindrift using primaloft.

So in a micro puff I wear a large and it has some room but not much extra. So would you get the m or the large in the Uncompahgre?

I'm 6'0" and 165 lbs with long arms (29" draw length) and the large is a bit big on me. Sleeves are plenty long and it's not tight across my chest or shoulders. My hunting partner who's 6'3" and 200 lbs got an XL and it fits him great. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Is the jacket warmer than the Spindrift?

the mighty yukon territory.
warmer than the spindrift? how's the breathability? one thing i like about the spindrift is that it is pretty tolerable when i'm sweating. i hate the smothering feeling of some insulations.

I've never gotten clammy in the firstlite. For being a puffy it breathes awesome. But since it's usually my outermost layer if I start to get overheated it's easily pulled off. And yes it's WAY warmer than the spindrift!

How is the cut? I really like firstlite wool but the cut is kinda strange IMO. I could fit 3 of me in the stomach area of the shirts but they are to short to even tuck in. I still own quite a bit of their stuff just think it is a strange cut. Is the new outerwear the same way?

oooh, that's tantalizing........ i like the idea of a puffy as an exterior as opposed to a mid layer. not a fan of doing the midlayer shuffle.

I won't pack a softshell anymore because of this jacket. Cuts the wind, breathes well, super warm and light! Not bad in small showers either with the DWR.

The cut is good, slightly baggy around my lower torso but I'm super skinny and it's designed to go over lots of under layers...

I've been using this jacket for the past few weeks. I'm very impressed with it's warmth and ability to cut wind. I'm 5'11 and 200# and I went with the large. Good fit with plenty of room to layer under it.

How is the noise? Is it a fairly quiet material?

It's loud IMO. But all puffy's are loud. I have used mine quite a bit and I do like it though. The hood is definitely a plus in a puffy for me. And it cuts the wind great.
