I am looking to purchase a set of rain gear from first lite. I am 5' 11" and weigh 210. I typically wear large pants and an xl jacket. Do these fit true to size or are they made to layer under them. Looking to wear a base layer and fleece or wool layer under them in cool weather. Any input from first lite owners would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm 6'1" and weigh 225 , I have the xl jacket and xl pants , they could easily layer over even the uncompaghre puffy and kanabs , in other words they run big IMO , not true to size .

Now wondering if large jacket would work. Is sleeve length generous as I have relatively long arms. Also any word on new camp patter in the storm tight?

I am 5'11" about 190 pounds and the medium jacket fit me great with plenty of room to layer/spare. I have a 42 inch chest. I would say the large jacket will probably be a better fit. Sleeve lengths are generous.

I recently picked one up and used it in some nasty weather in the trinities. I really, really like it. It's tougher than I expected which is a good thing.

The fit is VERY large. It's the one thing I might tweak a little bit. I'm 5'8" 155 and athletic, and a small has a bit more room than I would have preferred, but not so much that I'd return it. It comes in handy if, say, I'm wearing my base layer + fleece + down vest + BINOS and want to throw the jacket over all of it with no tight fit.

I'll second this. I'm 5'11", 180, and 42 chest. I have a Medium and there is plenty of room in the middle, in fact I can wear my binocular harness underneath the jacket. Arm length is good too. I just wish they had made it a tad longer in the torso given how well it fits someone who always wears Large in every other outdoor brand.

Brian, I am the same size as you: 46L jacket and 35-36 waist. I bought the XL jacket and L pants. Am able to wear the pants over my L Kanabs and a puffy under my XL jacket. Feel like the L jacket would have been too tight in the chest.
