First Lite Phantom 3d review?

I’ve found very little as far as reviews for the First Lite leafy top. Any of you use it? My main attraction is being able to throw it over an peice of clothing for instant camo.

My application will be eastern whitetail archery from a tree. I don’t need to worry about blobbing out at 100 yards. I need to worry about not being seen by a deer within 30 yards in a tree with less than ideal cover.

I’ve tried the ASAT leafy suit. I was really sold on it. The fatal flaw to me is that the suit is the BRIGHTEST thing in the woods in the last 15 minutes of daylight (most vital time). Combine that with being in a dark barked tree, it’s a disaster.

I’m hoping the First Lite suit in Fusion will not have this problem.

Perhaps you have got a 3D suit with UV light pb. ASAT sold a bunch of them in the past ...

I have one. It works fine. Light and compact. Not any better than the Real tree extra version I have. If you are looking for instant camo you may want something that can cover lower body as well.

As with all of these rigs, you have to make sure you have good strong clearance on your arm. Easy to pull the left or right sleeve up to you elbow but you need something to camo your forearm.

I know this thread is old but since it ranks well in google I am going to respond here.

I typically wear an XL and read reviews this thing runs big. The ASAT leafy and every other leafy I ever tried was bigger than needed for sure so I did what anyone would do and ordered a large. I am literally right on the cusp between sizes, I can sometimes wear a large.

Anyhow, the large wouldve been ok but the sleeve length was too short and it didnt fit over late season gear. Not sure id ever wear it in late season though as you cant get to any pockets underneath. Anyhow, its on its way back to exchange for an XL.

Tacking on to either help others or figure out if I am crazy or not. I just got one for spring turkey, and the damned zipper is on the wrong side of the jacket. Like men's jackets are zipped with the right hand and women's jackets are zipped with the left hand. This thing zips with the left hand. Is this normal or did I get a reject?

Yep, left zip and in my opinion the cuffs are too damn tight. They should make them with velcro or snaps for adjustment.

I think it's a great product. The Phantom Leafy tops do run big in my experience although FL states they run true to size. Perhaps they are allowing for fit over outerwear. I sized down as I'm rarely wearing anything of much thickness during Turkey or Archery season when I tend to wear it. I find that the Fusion pattern is considerably darker than the Cipher pattern with this piece. I'll use the Fusion when in a shaded area and the Cipher when exposed to more sunlight.

The Phantom Balaclava is awesome. I'll often just wear it during Archery season due to concern over loose garments when shooting although my son wears both pieces during Archery without a hitch. Both pieces pack and ventilate well.
