I have 3 I am playing with right now out of my Spyder 30 at 70# 29" draw
1) Easton Injexions 330's at 422gr and 12.2% FOC @ 300-301 fps
2) GT Velocity 300's at 427 gr 17.2% FOC @ 297-298 fps
3) Easton FMJ 340's at 455 gr 11% FOC @ 290-291 fps

So far the Injexions seem to have the best overall grouping long range and that is re-tuning for each shaft.

Ontarget7- I see your FOC's are all over 10%, is that what you're going after? I thought you wanted between 7-10%. I'm no expert whatsoever and just wanted to know your thoughts on FOC.

Most manufacturers recommend that.

But for optimum fixed blade broadhead performance, 10-15% is better.

Current setup is 405 grain arrow at 315 fps I really like the first pin good to 30. That's with 70 lbs and 30" draw.

The bow I just ordered has 80 lb limbs and I am hoping to shoot a 475 grain arrow at 315. The bow should be in this week so it won't be long till I can start tinkering.

I have had very great success with many different combinations but all have been at least 10%. The most important issue is proper dynamic spine and that should be the first goal. It's really not that hard to get at least 12% and the reason why some find it hard is the length of their raw shaft. I myself have a 29" draw but generally choose to cut my arrow at a 27" raw shaft. This will improve FOC and is plenty safe if you have a proper grip/form. The base of your broadhead will generally sit about half way into your shelf at full draw. One thing to keep in mind are the use of Swept back blades like the Exodus etc. This can cause issues of your broadhead blade hitting your shelf so in these cases you are left leaving the raw shaft longer.

I hear guys talk about huge advantages and better groups with a 17%-20%+ FOC and to be honest in my testing I just have not seen it. Now I will say it is possible to achieve better results from a bow that is not tuned quite right. What I mean by that is the higher the FOC the easier it is to have an arrow that is not flying true correct itself. However when things are equal and in tune I see zero advantages in the form of accuracy. Now some guys feel they want the most penetration possible but I focus more my concentration on shot placement and accuracy.

With the Z7 Magnum at 61 lbs Chronograph 10 shot average (all within 1.5 fps) 296fps - KE 72.5 lbs
Super easy to draw back at the low poundage and super accurate. Best shooting bow I ever had. It just holds steady and true for me.

Shooting a 70# Maxxis 31, 28" DL, 27" Easton Axis arrows, 125 gr tips, 1.5" fusion vanes, 400 gr total weight, 14% FOC, 284 fps, 72#'s KE. Used to use FMJ's similar set up, 450 gr arrows total weight, 269 fps, 72.3# KE. Looking to get a little more speed without much loss of KE.
