Super stoked. Was hard to push that "pay now" button but I need it before archery season. Those in colorado are u using net or line?. Right now I just got basic sawtooth, no stove. I'm a little apprehensive to use a stove unless it's real cold. If u hunt right from camp and u are in the middle of elk country do u worry about scaring game away with smell of smoke? Thanks.

Nope I dont use the liner at all. The Bug net is going to depend on where you are hunting in Colorado. The western slope last year was bad for Mosquito but the Eastern Slope wasnt bad at all. Even without the net if you keep your Sawtooth closed up you'll have minimal bugs. Maybe a few you need to clear out but you should be fine.

Roger. I know a lot of guys use the stove during rifle I'm just not sure about archery. Maybe I'm being overly cautious.

I pretty much always build a fire especially as the days grow shorter. I'm solo a lot so it's sort of my evening tv :). If I'm base camping with a group of friends a fire pretty much burns 24-7 often with a stew or pot of chile simmering over it. Early in the season I don't always build a fire but that's mostly because the days are so long and I just want to sleep. Ironically this is at the same time of the year I can't get away from the smell of a forest fire. If the wind is right you can smell a burn a couple of hundred miles away. This actually takes some getting used to.

Congrats on the Sawtooth. I'm eyeballing one myself. What's the lead time you were quoted?

Thanks for info. You are right about long days and just wanting sleep.

According to my invoice only 2 weeks. On the phone i was told 4 but that was a standard response to most tents they said

For archery, you shouldn't need a stove unless you just want to dry some stuff out. I haven't had a fire in any of my hunting camps (truck or otherwise) since 2003.

This year I'm actually looking at going even lighter with a tarp and bug bivy is all.

Sometimes it is hard to hit that "pay now" button when prices hit the 1k mark, but with Kifaru, once I receive my goods that feeling smoothy fades away.
Enjoy it man.

I haven't had to put a stove in my Sawtooth yet as I'm usually the only person in it.......those other snoring, noisy types stay in the 12 man Tipi near the Ti stove. Great little tent!

Not to derail the thread, but I was wondering is there something that comes installed on the sawtooth to cover up the hole for the stove pipe if you're taking it out without the stove so that you don't have a big open hole in the top of your shelter? I'm assuming there is, but never seen this directly addressed...

Yes , there is a sewn on cover that velcros down or rolls up when the stove is in use.
