Well guys its getting close 3days and I am on a plane heading north! Going through everything tonight so I will only have a few punch list items to take care of through the next couple days. I will post a gear list etc later on when I can get to a comp. I am looking at 57lbs complete for 8.5 days including bow strapped to pack. Wish I could live hunt this thingImageUploadedByTapatalk1375675330.116480.jpg

So how come all the food? I thought guides handled all that stuff? Just show up with clothes, hygiene and a weapon?

What range?

Thoughts on an ice axe and crampons?

I dont like relying on people for food etc. I figure it is easier to spend the hundred or so on food and bring what I know and like. I will be in the Brooks Rangs. Thought crossed my mind on that stuff also but he will have that if it is needed

Best of Luck! I'll be going through the same thing in a month. Hopefully will hear about your hunt when you return.

Roger. Just curious. I'll admit I'm not up to snuff on guides but the little I do know from a guide friend is that guides feed you very well.

Shaun, have fun and enjoy the trip. Where in the Brooks Range are you going and whom are you going with? I hunted up the Gates of the Artic several years agao and had a blast.

Looks like my pile Shaun...Except the food. I'm not taking any in with me. Relying on the guide. Never been hungry on a guided hunt before, don't think this one will be any different...Good luck...Maybe we will cross paths on the way out...

Do it. Tyveks are a solid sneak method. Sheeps are already on high alert, and you need to get into a sub-60yd window. Get one big enough to allow full range of movement without tearing, and make sure you can operate your bow geared up and suited up in tyvek.
