Filson clothing and gear.

I have some of their old luggage from the 90’s and a couple older wool tops all US stuff and well made. F the China crap.

I have the strap vest for upland hunting. Used thier polos and pants for work prior to retirement. Have a couple tin cloth and makinaw coats that i use for camping and around town. Will not hunt in them due to weight.

I still like Filson stuff and have quite a bit of it. Picked up a tin cloth game vest last week. Made overseas but still good quality. Wish everything was still made stateside, but I couldnt care less about their targeted demographic. It’s good quality gear with a good warranty and customer service.

I don't think the hipster was ever Filson's intended end-market user but when sales start racking up in the hipster niche certainly can't blame them for taking advantage. Hell, there is a Filson store not from my place in Tokyo.

I have pretty much everything that carries the name mackinaw or tin cloth. The double mack jacket is expensive but it's also 30 years old now. I have been trying to wear out a pair of double tin pants most of my life.....and my tin cloth coat with wool liner has been in use on bird hunts, outdoor jobs and even a night on the town.....though it smells a bit western today.

Filson changed their marketing just like carhartt did. It's too bad. I just bought a blanket at their store in spokane and the location sure makes it uncomfortable for a guy like me to shop there.

I'm a getting older kinda guy and I have old Filson that still rocks. IF it still fits me. I have a Filson weekender kind of duffle that I was gifted 20+ years ago and it's still going strong. Used alot--every month--seems to always be half packed and ready to go...

Filson belts have always been great and long lasting for me. Have three that I rotate through regularly. Recently got a Bullhide belt---cost of Filson was a factor---we'll see if it lasts as long as my Filson belts--it might?

At the price point and quality of today's Filson there are better buys today. Also pretty sure I don't fit the modern Filson demographic anymore.

Their bird britches with the tin cloth on the front of the legs get worn all winter at the farm

I’ve been using one of their medium field bags as my deer hunting bag for over ten years and love that thing

I’m wearing a Filson puffy vest today around town.

Had a pair of their roper boots, did not like them at all

Think I also have a bird vest that I’ve outgrown. And I’ve got several Filson belts

I think I only have two pieces of Sitka gear both hoodies I bought from someone doing a gear dump. I do like them a lot

Do not own any kuiu or other of the newer performance hunting brands. I do own a fair amount of nomad stuff and plenty of carharrt

Ranchers wear the tin cloth coats and jackets, see them all the time for work wear around here.
Wool vests too as a layer but the wool coats are for cold night out. They want a durable outer layer for work.
I have a couple of wool packers type coats and a tin cloth/ lined short cruiser. All are super warm and comfy.
When it's bitter cold out I reach for my Filson wool coat.

Spouse wears his Filson wool vest all the time in cold weather, he's hardly a hipster lol.
I see all types wearing it around here, but not hunters so much.
If I didn't have a KOM wool vest I would wear my Filson vest hunting. They are a great layer in the cold.

I was in no way saying only Hipsters wear their stuff. It still nice, just not for the price point they're charging in my opinion. I feel like they're setting themselves up for failure with what they charge and how its marketed in recent years. I hate to see established brands like them taking a slow slide downhill.

I didn't even know they had a store in Spokane. I live 2 hours from there. Carhartt has definitely marketed to a broader audience as well, but at least their prices are a bit more reasonable!

I've got 2 Bullhide belts. They're very solid. I like Mack's belts better, but the Bullhide's are high quality and I have no doubt they'll last as long as the Filson's.

Last couple things I got from Filson were Made in China crap.

I was going to say. My friend bought a 700 waxed canvas down parka type of thing and it was made in Thailand.

I fully get that the Made in America label costs some extra money in this day and age, but with companies like Origin pulling it off without utterly ludicrous Filson prices I know it can be done. Origin makes some nice stuff.

I have worn a Folsom softshell (sheller fabric) on every single big game hunt I've been on the last 5 years.

Did wear some double tin pants chasing elk in the rainforest a couple years (I rather be wet)

Just wore my Mackinaw on a successful moose hunt Thursday.

But I don't wear anything else or there's and have no intent. I did snag a button up shirt to wear to wedding. Returned it the day after. The damn shirt was $150.
