Id absolutely shoot an Atip at animals lol. Ive shot many A-Max and tons of deer and elk. Sounds like you're on the Hunting bullet bandwagon? Truth is, Match bullets are the ticket for absolute catastrophic tissue obliteration. Hunting bullets hold together, they are good just not my cup of tea. I want a bomb to go off when it hits. Check out the Hornady GOV website that reccomends all bullets be Match bullets for the snipers and LE. Eye opening actually.
Read this thread, or just read Form's posts in it for that mater.

Here is a search of his posts in that thread.

I have shot too many animals with both Match and Hunting bullets for anyone to tell me otherwise. People can keep their opinions, I'll keep killing them in their tracks with Match bullets. No blood trail, no lost animals...DOA!
Wait... did you read the post marbles linked to?

You also obviously are in too much of a hurry, so I well leave to to fight your straw men and I will keep using match bullets for hunting, along with Form.

Well its 14 pages. I read multiple pages and sounds like he's trying to make the argument that Match bullets aren't good for hunting. My opinion is that they are. Straight and simple. If that was not the point of that link, I apologize.
...yeah, you actually didn't read it....

It’s the opposite my friend.

Recently had another smooth bore Fierce rifle present in the wild. Helping out a forum member new to hand loading figure DTL/jump. He continued to report too short DTL/jump length and bullets seated really deep. He told me it was a Fierce rifle and I remembered this thread. I didn't automatically assume a smooth bore, I thought chamber cut short and he would need a throat reamer. We discussed the CS of Fierce vs having a local smith perform the job. The local smith reported back the smooth bore condition. Damn!

Fierce was notified and seem to be on board to remedy the issue. I hope Fierce learnt the lesson from the previous fiasco and this case goes way smoother for the poor guy. (ETA: Unintended pun on "smoother")

Pics of smoothbore please.

Wow. Don't they advertise these as being proof shot for groups? How in the eff do they chamber an unrifled barrel without noticing?
Absolutely baffling. If they do/did show a group in with the gun...that opens up a whole nother can of worms.

I don't think he has pics as it was discovered at the smith and the smith is willing to handle the shipping for him. I'll ask though.

If this thread is any indication, that's the kind of documentation I'd be damn sure to have.
Damned straight. Since he reported the smith was in contact with Fierce I imagine that smith had borescope pics to provide. I'll tell old boy to get a copy for his records.

Maybe it was their extreme long range carbon smoothbore muskets they use to gut shoot elk on the "Muskalero".

I just hope since your debacle Fierce has done a 180 on the moral compass.
For your buddies sake I hope so, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. Look at their response to this thread. Also, some of the people that “helped” me through my issues are still working for the company. Good luck!

I think you need to be more patient with @Craniak17. I'm sure he's still working on his follow-up post. Has to work its way through marketing, R&D - and Legal.

I know you went through hell on this. I just want to say thank you for posting your experience, and again for marching through the goblin ridicule you were presented with earlier in the thread. You certainly have helped protect another customer, or offer a better understanding of what he might face, when dealing with the company.

Appreciate it. I deserved some of the comments. I seriously never used to check barrels or clean one before shooting a new rifle. Obviously, stupid. I do now. I’ve learned a ton from guys on this forum about bullets, shooting technique, etc and just wanted to add a little bit of info myself.

Some guys are super tough (on a computer) but if their comments bothered me I’d have a really rough life ahead of me.
