Fieldcraft is about to be back on the menu boys

Do you think $2500 would be a reasonable asking price? Not sure what Leupold scope is on it.It's been in my safe for a couple years, just took it out to clean and decided to shoot. Love the thing but want something with a suppressor for my daughter.
Just get it a new 18" barrel installed..keep the original.
I have had an 18" 308 for 6yrs only rifle i hunt with...I would sell the dog before I sold my FC.

Was thinking about the field craft again and came across your guys’ thread here. When I go to Barrett’s website, I’m able to stick a FC in my cart, like it’s a thing again…. I haven’t seen any recent articles or anything so I’m skeptical. Is this legit? https://barrettfirearms-usa.com/rifles/
No, that’s not legit

I got excited when I saw that but was skeptical. I emailed them about it and this was their response..

I just emailed Barrett when these were coming back, this was my reply

"We are still in the early stages of bringing back the Fieldcraft line. This will probably be our first order of business when we move to our new building in 2027."

What didn’t you like about them? I loved my FC stocks, granted I have always liked open grip sporters on hunting rifles.
Just not my thing. Trigger reach too long, LOP too long, the Monte Carlo stock does the opposite of what competition rifles does (pushes the head further away from centerline of bore and tilts it even more), comb was too short.

I still liked my Fieldcrafts. I loved the simplicity, accuracy, and the quality of the trigger. Just once I started shooting more ergonomic stocks and chassis, I couldn’t go back.

That’s interesting. When I owned my FC’s, I certainly didn’t have as much experience as I do now with different styles and features in high end CF stocks, so it would be interesting to shoot them again now versus some others that I’ve got.

I felt they were fairly similar to the Kimber Montana stocks, which I have always felt soaked up recoil very well, but wish they had just a slightly more vertical grip… might have to bust out the epoxy putty 😂
