Field Bred Goldens

Yes, I have a father and son out of Trieven Sungold in Lovell, Wy. Goldens can be exceptional upland dogs if you are selective about the breeder. most golden breeders have bred more for show dogs than hunting lines in the last 25 years. They are all good house dogs, just be aware that good field goldens need to be exercised or worked daily. I run my dogs 90 plus days a season and they are very durable. Hope this helps.

Thistlerock Goldens out of Elk River, MN We have three and they won't be our last. Great field bred dogs. Super hunters with tons of natural desire and intelligence. Also, great family dogs. I can't say enough good about them.

Field bred golden will fit your description. We just studded ours out for the 2nd time, big dope with the kids but a killer pheasant dog. He's got a great off-switch, big dope around the house but a predator in the cattails. Make sure you don’t get a show line, they can be worthless. As others have said above, they need to be ran more than their show counterparts, they're true athletes. Mine has gone through a couple marathon trainings with me (45-50 mile weeks) and we hunt pretty much everyday once the season is open. I'll never own anything else.

Not ready for a puppy yet otherwise I’d take my stud fee. Still haven’t found a worthy buddy to give my stud fee too.

Couple quality breeders below:
Nelson Kennels in Ramsey, MN
Wildfire goldens in Central MN
TopFlight Goldens out of St. Croix Falls, WI
Thunderstruck Goldens (Carson Wentz got his here, big big $$$$ dogs)

I would highly recommend Sky River Goldens out of Ellensburg, WA. She is a fire breathing dragon in the field, her motor and drive for birds never stops. At home she is calm and cuddly as long as she gets enough exercise. Excellent house dog and bird dog.
