Favorite Walnut/Blued Rifle

Didn't realize there were so many m70 fans....with all of the "new" brands out there.

The criteria: Wood/ blue, 270...for me has to be the m70 featherweight 270wsm.

Ive got the same rifle in multiple calibers. All of mine are New Haven made ...love them!

Mauser, Dakota, Kimber, Cooper, Sako, Sauer. I like Winchesters, but am not a fan of the finish they use. It kills nice wood. My preference in their super grade is maple.

I’m very partial to my Kimber 84L Super Grade. Sure is a purdy rifle, shoots good too.

I have one of those as well in 300 WM. Stunning rifles for sure! Gotta love them!!!

I know you said American but my JP Sauer 30-06 is GORGEOUS. I also have a Sako 375 H&H that’s close and my “old” 80’s model 700. Nothing compares to this Sauer I own though.

I don't know if they still make them, but I loved the look of the M70's with the maple stocks.

My Featherweight was pretty and very functional. I wish I hadn't got rid of it.

As a lefty it would have to be the Winchester 70. They can still be found but have not been made for many years. All are CRF and carry the old style trigger.
My second choice would be the Ruger 77.

Not American made, but this CZ 600 American has been a nice rifle. I've had it in my possession for a couple of months to write an article for a magazine here in Australia. It shot really well and it's been fun to use. It looks amazing, and is significantly cheaper than any of the other big brand rifles like Sako, Winchester, etc, but the quality of it truly leaves nothing to be desired.
