What is your favorite, factory new walnut stock and blue rifle? Not really a fan of plastic and cheap finish.
I'd prefer American made, but open to suggestions.

Likely this will be a 270, if that matters.

I know I will get a lot of answers (hopefully) but looking for a high quality wood stock, good finish, and excellent bluing.

Check out the bergara timber or woodsman. They don’t skimp on the stock. And really really good accuracy.

I’m with you. I’ve always been a fan of nice wood stocked blued rifles. Cooper makes some nice ones, as does Sako.

Winchester 70 Super Grade in 270 is a sight to behold. Deep mirror finished bluing and fancy grain walnut stock with shadowline cheekpiece

Cooper. Some ruger number ones, Shiloh sharps ( nice wood but not your caliber) Turnbull lever action guns offer some nice wood also

#1 without question is the Winchester Model 70 Featherweight.

#2 is the Winchester Model 70 Super Grade.

The SG might actually be the prettiest of the two, but the FWT is such a joy to hunt with.

Either way, you’re getting the best rifle ever made.

Totally agree. Win M70 and a Cooper 54. I’ve owned both. Both fabulous and just feel right in the hands. In the end, I prefer the M70 and CRF, but both are fine guns.

There’s a few weatherby MKVs in my dads safe that have beautiful wood. I used to have a 700bdl in 30-06 that was nice. Now I don’t have any wood rifles.

Yup, what’s already been said here many times over. This one’s in 458 Win. Mag. They just don’t get any better than CRF as far as I’m concerned.
