So I have the 26" Duplex Hunter coming and am reviewing possible packs.
I will use it mostly for day pack, but hauling elk out too.
I have seen mentioned the 3 main ones from Kifaru: 22Mag, Woodsmen, Nomad
Of these 3 I am leaning towards the Woodsmen

How ever is there another company pack you suggest that also carries well on the Kifaru frame?

AMR hands down.

Cinches nicely for short day trips. Opens up to haul any and everything you're man enough to carry. Pals on the sides leaves options for extra pockets/ci's if needed. Hell, even doubles as a half bag in an emergency situation. Lol

I like the 22 mag, but it is so much heavier, yet smaller than the woodsman. Does anyone know if the 500D material one is lighter than the spec'd out 1000D one? I would think this pack is more like 2 lbs, not 3 ?
The woodsmen is bigger yet lighter?
Even the reconing is lighter at 2x the capacity?

I like the 22mag internal 3 mesh pocket set up, as that's all I need. Keeps me from buying more storage bags.

the Exo packs all include the frame and belt right?
That's a gang of $$$ to spend to only get a bag or am I missing something??

Mr Bill
I could've used a big bag this year to crawl in when the mother of all storms hit and I was miles from UTV with only rain tops on. Had a heck of a time getting a fire started. Crawled up under a low hanging spruce, used my chapstick to get the wet timber lit. Spent an hour under that tree shivering.

No you can buy the bags alone. The 2k is my favorite EXO just wish it was about 2000ci larger, which is exactly what the Mountain Warrior pretty much is.

Dotman,
I'm after a day pack not a long trip
:)
I don't need all the extra bag of the bigger ones.
I only need the 1500 ci size, but understand I can get bigger and compress. Just don't want all the excess.

Then I'd get the EXO 2k bag, look under the accessories page to get a bag only.

I see in the Rhino Den they have the Argali, Tahr, Markhor and 22 mag. All bags are relatively the same price, I was wondering why a guy wouldn't just go with the Argali? Its 7000ci, lightweight and can fit a ton of gear and possible most of your animal. Any thoughts or comments would be great. Thanks

Be sure to search the forums on how to set up the exo bags to the kifaru frame. You basically need some straps from kifaru and a few clips.

The argali is a great bag. Put in a center zip and it is even better.

I wish I would have got into Kifaru earlier in my hunting life. Great product line. I've doing huge hunts with the ALPS Outdoorsman for years and I finally realize its time to up ante.

I like the Tahr.... Seems a bit more of a procedure to get the meat loaded than the 22 mag
But a real nice bag, nicest I've seen in may ways so far
The Argali is just too dang big and will end up with creases and crevises and water pockets for me

For some reason the Kifaru page keeps locking up so I cant check them all out

the 22mag is a great day pack, you can haul all you can handle with it too.. i got a hanging meat bag and use it in conjunction with the 22mag, works perfectly....

honestly i have never weighed it, i have the fusion 500d, it is a robust pack with all the pals on the side of it and all the zippers id say its closer to 3lbs, but i honestly haven't weighed it, i can tonight when i get home. its a great pack, he woodsman looks like a great pack as well. much larger as well, i may have chosen it over the 22 mag if it was available at the time. i really like the panel loader and the side pockets on the 22mag , i use them so much.
decisions, decisions. you can find used bags on here and always buy and sell till you get the one you want.
i think i will try the woodsman when one hits the classifieds, and see if i like it better....
