Looking for suggestions for an old savage 20ga/22lr. For small game, birds and squirrels. The rear sight got tweaked years back and curious what folks are running. Have not shot the gun in years so not sure if the sight is fine or not.

Also in the process of turning and 870 20ga into a gobbler gun, so I would be interested in hearing what you guys favor for that - rib mounts, something fancier or just leave that damn beed alone. Thanks

I have had good success with a HiViz front only. IIRC, it is called the 'tri-viz' model. Anyway, it is triangular & you can use the top of the triangle for 'precision' shots and the blob of color for speed shots.

Marlin 336 base and Vortex Venom 3 MOA red dot. I’ve got one on an 870 and an 11-87 turkey guns.

Bead is best if you can use it. They have the happy utility of not breaking like everything else can. All my turkey guns have Burris Fastfires mounted to the barrels nowadays. Tight patterns and going blind just about, ya know.

Best shotgun sight I've found is the champion clays Fiber Optics, they've got a sleeve in front of the optic, so you're not seeing double when you shoot both eyes open. I've got one on almost all my shotguns (My browning A5 doesn't have one yet, but it's predessesor the SuperNova has one, along with my O/U) they're like $20 and I think it's a better upgrade to a field gun than an aftermarket choketube, I use guns sporting one for everything from ducks to quail to turkeys without a hiccup

Yea, I have one of those on a 12ga 870, wanting to keep the 20 to open sights.

I did the reverse. My 12ga with a longer barrel has a bead only. My short 20ga turkey gun has a red dot. I like my TSS shooting a tight pattern, so it helps with that, as well.

I put a peep sight on my Savage 20 ha .22 O/U which worked out pretty well.

My A5 turkey gun wears a orange fiber optic bead front and green fiber optic rear clamp on sight I got from Midway years ago
