Yeh, I'm a huge fan of H1000. The H4831 was a touch slow. Been trying to get IMR4831. Sells out fast .

Haven’t shot an elk with it yet. But my Tikka 7 mag shoots 168 VLD Hunting at 3080 FPS using rem brass and Fed 215M primers and 7828 SSC. 1/2-3/4” groups at 100 yards.

I've loaded the 168 TTSX over both Hunter and H4350 for friends rifles in 300 WSM. I last worked up a load of R16 under Hammer 154 HHT for my SILs 300WSM.

Thanks everyone, Made up some great loads. Getting .75 " or less groups out of both rifles constantly. Shot both at 500 yards the other day and both were right there. Ended up with 160 gr Accubonds for the 7mm and the 180 gr Accubonds for the 300 wsm . Tried Bergers and ELD X with the same groups and both are excellent bullets. Just wanted a little more bullet retention. Got a feeling the elk are in trouble lol.

I'm sure you will be happy with the accubond. I'm shooting the 160 this year on my elk hunt and have confidence in them.

How did the 2nd season go and which rifle did you end up taking? I shoot a 7mm with the 160gr AB's and they have performed well on both elk I have had the opportunity to encounter.

Shoot whichever one hits where you want it to. They'll take care of it.

I have a buddy who shoots 162 ELD-X's from his 7RM and has killed more elk than I, and at distance. I have a buddy borrowing my 7 RM this fall, he'll probably be using 150 grain TTSX. I think I used H4831 as well, but haven't loaded those in a while.

My gun shot 200 grain partitions well. Dropped him on the spot 200 partition, 65 grain H4831SC

Killed my moose with H4831 and a 180 grain TTSX.

Either of those guns are great elk options. You'll put them to bed with anything that's accurate and 150 grains and up
