Help me Buy/Build 270 Win

lol does nothing work in this industry?!

To be fair… my Scythe Ti hasn’t blown up yet. If I was you, I would look at the AB Raptor or the US/UM OG. I’m sure others have solid recommendations as well.

@Macintosh wow thank you so much. Really helpful. I like the sound of MPBR and dialing. Like you said, once I pick scope, I’ll practice and see what style fits me best. Dialing on shots every once in a while in the field (I’d practice more at range of course) doesn’t seem like too big a hang up

Howdy - looking to buy or build a 270 win hunting rifle. Open to suggestions on alternative calibers but here are my requirements:

1. Left hand
2. Deer, elk, black bear, moose, antelope out to mid range (500ish yards)
3. Suppressed

I have looked at Tikka t3x roughtech as it comes in LH. However, I’m reading that a 1-8 twist for 270 opens up a lot of choices, but Tikka is standard 1-10 twist.

Should I get the Tikka (comes in 20” or 22.4” barrel length) and adjust if need be? Or should I build from ground up?

Primarily hunt in TN, but will be in ID, MT, and WA quite a bit.

Long time lurker, finally got account!
Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
I hunt Tennessee and Arkansas and went through the same thing. By the time I added up license trip cost and how often I would use the rifle I ended up going the custom route. Deep South Tactical has built an awesome and accurate custom rifle that is lightweight and premium quality. Comparing the cost of the rifle to an off the shelf and what I wanted I wished I would have done it sooner. David was solid from the quote to the build and delivery. The website hasn’t had an update on availability but he is producing and giving quotes/taking orders.

I would check them out he’s built my precision gun previously.

I have a Tikka T3 lite SS in .270 and love it. Very light weight setup and wouldn't hesitate to take a shot out to 500 yards. Super smooth bolt action compared to my Savage 110. I can't comment on how well the .270 will do with the larger game you mentioned, but it certainly does the job with deer and antelope.

What scope you got on it?
