Finally going to start to take my daughter shooting. She will be 8 next month.
I’m open to suggestions in different calibers as well. She is not big by any means but boy is she tough. She saw one of my rifles and was like dad, show it to me. If I opt not to get a 22lr, whatever caliber I get, I’d sun suppressed to reduce recoil.

22lr

skinny barrel CZ is a good spot to be. I cut this 17HMR 455 down to 16". Very handy lil rifle. One in 22lr would not suck....

I noticed the LOP on the tikka is longer than the CZ. Any thoughts

Chop it then put it in a bravo when she gets older.

Or

Get any 10/22 pattern and put in in a Blackhawk axiom stock if your daughter is short.

Trigger weight will probably be the biggest struggle for a few years.

My niece is 10 and shoots the T1x with a limb saver pad on it ok

Yeah she isn’t tall by any means. I think she is in the 10th or 25th percentile in height and weight. She is little lol.

What is your budget?

Each of my kids has a fancy 22 except one which is a savage mark2 fsv. Damn does it shoot nice.

Honestly all our 22s shoot amazing.

Bergera carbon 22 is probably my personal favorite as is the owyeehee.

Tacsol makes some amazing 22s.

Good luck with the search and purchase. 22s are so much fun.

Get a Can which it seems you may already have or are planning.

For their shooting pleasure and to make it enjoyable, I don’t mind spending money. I want them to make an experience where learn and are wanting to come back. First time experiences are huge for kids.

Any of the 22s shoot better at 50yds than most men can shoot their hunting rifles at 100yds. I think it comes down to LOP and trigger pull.

With the black Friday code you are in under $400, and it will last a lifetime. Krylon the stock her favorite colors...

I will agree with the cz 457 scout model. Has worked great for my now 9 year old. Can always upgrade stock and barrel as the kid grows.

My advise. Don’t get a single shot with irons.

My kids all struggled with the attention spans with the single shot iron sights.

Went 10/22 with red dot…I couldn’t get them to stop.

We are now all using scopes. Leupolds 2-7 on all the kid 22s.

I’ve heavily invested in 22s and each one has a can. Even more enjoyable.
