This place is cold blooded todayAt least she died doing something she loved........
feeding stray cats.
I still believe that the drive to mt. lion country is more dangerous than the hike in mt. lion country.I lose track of how many times it is repeated, especially for small adults and kids, to not hike alone in mountain lion country. It fits the stereotype of an easily preventable attack.
This is a long story but some women were bicycling and a cougar grabbed one of them by the head and they fought it off and held it down until someone came and killed it. It was a great article in the AARP magazine. Are there any accounts of a person successfully fighting off an adult mountain lion attack? It happens with bears, don't remember hearing anything lion wise.
I think this is the product of holidays in the middle of the week and guys are just plain bored.I don’t know if it’s just me, but a bunch of the recent responses around “the slide” make me feel like everyone is still hungover.
Wow. What an arrogant statement. You haven't spent much time in the woodsI'm not sure I'd agree with that. If one does get successfully killed by a mountain lion, its almost certainly over in a matter of seconds from the time the attack is initiated. If given a choice, I'd take death by mtn lion over quite a few other options.
I don’t know if it’s arrogant, but it’s a perspective. Beats knowing your airplane is going down on fire or being caught in a burning nightclub or having to jump from the World Trade Center.Wow. What an arrogant statement. You haven't spent much time in the woods
Why?If you haven’t read The Beast in the Garden by David Barron, I highly recommend it.
Do we know she didn't have a good handgun? It's possible as stealthy as cats are that any one of us could be attacked without being able to press our sidearms into service. Two less lions on the mountain. The importance of carrying a good handgun.
Wow. What an arrogant statement. You haven't spent much time in the woods
It's ridiculous every time it is repeated.I lose track of how many times it is repeated, especially for small adults and kids, to not hike alone in mountain lion country. It fits the stereotype of an easily preventable attack.
