No pictures of the antelope on mine but basically set the butt on the shelf, tie head on top portion of frame and lash the rest of it tight.

Is there only 1 guy doing the packing? It seems like it would be a piece of cake if there were 2 and split the deer in 1/2? I saw a backcountry single track tire that was motor propelled that looked like it would make quick work of a deer. The youtube video I saw they were hauling out an entire boned out cow bison.

Ive carried deer out whole with a kifaru frame and a grab it. A cargo panel would work better. It will do the job for you no problem.

I’ve been using my Kifaru all season to pack out animals. I’ve found it a lot easier and quicker than dragging. One of the places I hunt was select cut over the summer and still a lot of trees top and no roads. A cart would not work for me. Also have hunted on public where I will use my frame with a grab-it and a cargo lid to carry in lock ons and sticks. I got a Stryker the other day and I think I’m really going to like it. I was able to break it in the other day with a doe. It worked good. This season I’ve picked out 5 deer and a couple of pigs.

I use the Beartooth 80 from Mystery Ranch. just an option for you to do more than haul meat. Has a meat shelf that can carry a whole whitetail in the 90-115# weightclass. this is a pick of mine loaded with a 90# spike then another with about the same size doe145968145969145970

I like your style of hunting, are you in Florida? Slaton

I’m in Georgia. I live west of Atlanta nearly to Alabama but will hunt all over the state. The one with palmetto bushes was on a costal island and a deer my 11 year old killed with her bow. One of them came from inside the city limits of Atlanta. Then some of them came from my house.

For what you are looking for, I don't think you can beat the Alaska range frame. It's bomb proof, takes weight well and you would spend about 2 minutes rigging up straps. 20160421_171853.jpg

For me, the Kifaru frame is much more comfortable than the freighter-type frame. Since it sounds like you will be doing a lot of packing, I would aim for comfort.

I have packed out a couple of whitetails whole about 2 miles with my Kifaru. It worked well. I just tied all 4 feet up to the neck as tightly as I could, set the deer down on the meat shelf between the frame and either a Woodsman or Reckoning bag, and then tightened it down.

Edit: 26” tactical frame

I'm a little curious why you need to haul out whole? Also, how far are you packing? It only takes me a matter of minutes to bone out a deer and would be a lot less mass and weight if boned.

Not sure about the OP - but illegal in some places and seasons around here. When I hunt in NH, or during the first week of the shotgun season in MA, Deer need to be checked whole at a tagging/check station before you can break them down. Field dressing only.

Such an antiquated and unecessary (not to mention potentially harmful - to the hunter) regulation. I will never again drag a whole deer out of the woods or the mountains. Any place that won't let me quarter and pack is a place I won't bother hunting. Some state game agencies are stuck solidly in the 1940's and those NE states are the worst in that regard. They probably still want everyone to wear plaid flannel and hang an 8x10 license off their backs. LOL So dumb. But the citizens go for it so they get what they deserve.

Cart sounds like a good way to go. Honey badger or something of the sort. Freighter packs would work as would full sized frame packs from any of the top makers. Make sure you have good load lifters

Here's a whole whitetail doe (and a big one for these parts) quartered and stuffed in an XL pillowcase on that frame. I have used that frame to pack out many animals. Just get one that fits you well and it will handle all you can throw at it.

I'm sitting on a couple Kifaru packs, MR, badlands.....and I'd still choose the Alaska range for that load. It just has the rigidity and shelf to make it quick and easy.

Agree with you that it's stupid. But, hunters go for it because 99% have never done anything but shoot a whitetail, drag it out whole... Most don't hunt far enough from the truck or a road that it matters.

With that said, If I'm not prohibitively far, I'll take an animal out whole every time. I'd much rather hang whole and age with the skin on, and break down with a hoist and all my good skinning tools. No problem quartering and boning where needed though.

Bigger issues to deal with out here than this though, I'd leave if I could....

If I were you I'd invest in an ATV ...but since that's not what your after,I would look for as many as I could find to try on in store if possible and buy the one that's most comfortable.
