I haven’t really been keeping up with what Kifaru has been coming out with the last year or so. If you were gonna get a bag for 6-10 day trips what would it be? I need a bag for a 5-6 days New Zealand trip and a 10 day elk hunt.

Depends what type of pack you prefer.

Do you like lots of options for organization? If so, I would recommend a Fulcrum.

Do you like a simpler bag without as many pockets? If so, I would recommend the Crater (it's what I own for 10 day elk hunts).

Do you like the idea of a waterproof bag? The Muskeg 7000 would be the one I would look at.

I got my kifaru for exactly that purpose as well as moose hunting. I went with a fulcrum on a tactical gram and I’d do it again.

I know all the kifaru bags are useful and functional but in my opinion, the fulcrum is the best of the bunch. It is a huge pack but easily compressed down for day hunts, I love the center zip and I like the wing pockets because they help compress the pack.

I use mine with 2 or 3 medium pouches on the bottom and either a guide lid or another pocket on the top. I even use it with the native sometimes for the extra space.

I removed the plastic inserts that come in the pockets and that saved some weight on it.

I like the look of the fulcrum. I feel like those side pockets will come in handy and will help keep things a little more organized..

I started out with the EMRII and DT1. Both great bags but once I started using the AMR I haven’t looked back. Nothing seems to compare for me for size and ease of use. From loaded for 10 days to a simple day hike it just flat works. No wings, no extra straps or moving pieces, and big enough for more than I want to carry. Mine weighs 2#10 oz and I just can’t find a better bag for my long trip elk hunting needs. (Argali at 1#10oz is close but I love the sewn in back pockets of the AMR too much to swap full time)

I actually really like the look of the AMR too.. it will be a close one between those two..

Yup, I’m day pack mode you have full access to those pockets as well as as much room in the main bag as you want. The center zip is awesome too, I don’t think I’ll own another paxknin the future that dosent have a center zip.

Aron said he would go with a crater. I kinda like the one side pocket and simplicity of that one.
