Hey guys just put up a post on facebook, we are getting ready to order fabric for the first production run and have it narrowed down to 4 options: Coyote Brown, ASAT, Mulitcam and Foliage Green. We are going to pick two of them and base it off everyone's votes.

Please jump on the facebook page and chime in or if not just post up your vote on here.

Thanks,

Not surprised at all that those are the top vote getters.

But why not consider 3 if you can- coyote; foliage and asat. Seems like that would cover most bases. Do not know how interested I am in a new pack- but would definitely rule one out if only coyote and asat were the only choices. But that is just only me talking.

From purely a business standpoint being a very small company doing two colors at this time is all we can do. Each color has its own minimum order with the sew shop. Not saying we won't add another color as time goes on, just for now we are going to stick with two.

Out of curiosity the color a pack is would really keep you from buying it if you liked everything else about the pack?

Completely understand.

And regarding not buying a pack with a color I do not like, or is not what I am looking for for my preferences - yes that would be the case for me. When spending that kind of money for a product and there are other choices out there- why buy something you do not really like.

ASAT is and may be a very effective camo- but it has never done anything for me. Plus- I am not a huge fan of camo packs, as I do not see them as real necessary. And the coyote brown is for one not something that I have ever really warmed up to. On top of that- IMO, it does not fit well in a lot of the places I hunt. In be same way I do not walk around in the woods around here with real tan solid colors. Not a color I really like for most of my personal wear either. Can not think of any tan solid jackets or shirts that I wear.

But again- that is only me talking.

I would say stick to solids if you can only do two colours. If I loved a pack, but it only came in camo colours, I would move on and look for something new. JMO.

At least foliage and coyote would match most any camo out there.

Fair enough, I could definitely understand if you had two packs you liked and one came in green, the other not. For me here in Idaho as a solid color Coyote Brown is by far my favorite but we have a lot of brown country where I hunt. I could see in other places where green would be the preferred color. Thanks for your feedback and opinion.

Todd,
Yeah I have been on the fence with that one, Foliage will definitely match the Sitka/KUIU guys better but ASAT is also going to be a popular choice.

Steve, is that 4500 cubic inch model including all pockets or just main bag? Would really enjoy some pictures of it filled and worn to capacity! Like the price point too I'm excited to see the continued evolution of the pack!

I'm sure if you called around to Kifaru, MR, ect they may help with the decision. They have a ton of knowledge I'm sure they would be willing to pass on.

For some reason I remember a similar thread where everyone said they wanted a certain camo pattern, but when push came to shove no one stepped up to buy it.

Mike,
We are building/prototyping the larger bag right now. Based off feedback we are probably going to make it bigger, somewhere between 5-6000. The existing 3500 I am going to re-measure here soon, its basically the main bag and lid, not counting the side spotting scope/water bladder pockets, the external stretchy pocket, the frame panel pocket and the load shelf. Looked at a DT3 the other day and if its 4000 our 3500 is every bit as big as it.

Yeah ASAT will be interesting, I think with what First Lite has done with that pattern it will sell well if we do it but you never know.

Fantastic info thanks Steve. I think at your price point you guys are going to kill it! Very stoked to see another potential high quality pack company out and hitting the niche you are aiming for! And made in Idaho is just awesome as well!

Any plans on how to carry a bow or rifle on the pack?

Mike
