EXO K4 Now or Wait for the EXO K4X

Can somebody tell me what fabric they’re using for the K4x? I’m too lazy to read through the whole thread. Thanks!

Well how typical.

Because I just pulled the trigger on the k4 7200 today. Didn’t even realize there was a new one coming. Oh well

Sorry if I missed it but will there be lighter accessories for the bag and frame as well?

I am a weight weenie it would be nice to have the hip belt pouches made on the new material. Im also anti Nalgene (HEAVY haha) so it would be nice to have a smart water bottle holder on the belt. The current Nalgene holder is to large to hold a smart water bottle tight I have to put them in the pouches.

Well, at least you are aware that you have a problem.

Figured I'd chime in here, I was at the PNW Hunt Expo and got to see and feel the K4x prototype they had stashed in the closet and then promptly bought a K4 after chatting more with the guys at the booth.

It's gonna be really awesome for it's intended user group but ultimately the comfort and features on the K4 led me to pulling the trigger on it rather than waiting for the K4x. The big things I noticed/still remember-

The fabric between the frame stays was sort of waffle-looking with big airy gaps and felt similar to the crib loader from Exo, the bag fabric was more heavy-duty nylony feeling, forgive me, idk anything about fabrics. Bag was generally simpler and sleeker design with fewer compartments and pockets. It was definitely light af, impressively light. I suppose additional caveat that I have no clue if the bag I saw was a 60% final design or a 90% final design.

I was looking for a do-it-all backpacking, hunting, day pack, ruck bag and am in a place where I definitely have more than 2 lbs I can cut from my normal kit (and my gut) so I felt really good getting into a K4 after seeing both. Plus, I assume I have some years before I'd draw or be able to pay for some of those crazy sheep and goat hunts.
