I just watched the video carrying 150 lbs. for the second time (that dudes a stallion!). At first the load lifters looked functional but borderline on the angle. After he had walked a ways it looked like the angle was maybe 30 degrees and not very effective. Am I seeing this wrong?

I don't think you're really seeing it wrong. Probably had about 3.5" of lift to begin with and as Lenny hiked just from the shear weight of 150lbs it probably moved down an inch as the lumbar and hipbelt shifted a little under the load. I don't think there is a backpack that exists with 150lbs strapped to it that won't settle in a little. Its a 25" frame which we found to be the best compromise of height for functional load lifters and not too tall to use as a daypack.

Thanks. I'm pretty certain any pack I own would never see that kind of weight with me under it.
