Sapcut, if you want to shoot 1300g arrows…have at it. no worries.
It is just one more example of branwashing, crazy internet influencers telling us we need it.

I like Substack…
Another I like is the “Real Clear” sites posting both sides of an issue.

Real Clear has many different sections; energy, science, politics, etc. As an example, there will be articles on Biden saying he is the best thing since sliced bread…and others pointing out his incompetence and bad policy- both sides.

Who is jocko? And why should I listen to him? Is he a good influencer? All I pay attention to anymore is the Bible, hunting, fishing, and shooting. I gave up all news over a year ago and I feel my life has improved greatly since. Between all the freak shows on the left and conspiracies on the right I decided I have had enough and that the odds of me changing anything in that realm are very slim. I will do some research when the next election rolls around, vote, then get back to God, family, and the great outdoors. P.S. I wonder how this Jocko character makes money?

This mindset only works in a free society. Free societies are rare and often challenged by those who want power over your life.

My list of things to be outraged at is getting long, so I want to be sure I get this one right. Just to be clear… some guy who goes by “Jocko” and makes a living from influencing people’s thinking and profiting from social media hits wants me to click on his corporate-owned social media websites so that he can warn me that corporations and people with bad pseudonyms are on the internet trying to influence my thinking and make money from my social media clicks? A lot of mixed messages here, who should I be outraged at?

Edit: I don’t disagree with the guy, but the irony and ridiculousness of it all is amazing.

Hard to say, but the mere fact that you are looking for things to be outraged over is a good sign. The new American past-time. ;-)

I’ve never said anyone needs a 1300 grain arrow to reach any objective. The real problem here is internet influencer wannabees saying things that are not true, and they know aren’t true, to justify their own actions. See the problem here?… as you get brainwashed by a podcaster of the dangers of being brainwashed. Hellooo?

So what should he do instead? Just go shout his message into the abyss? I genuinely think Jocko is trying to do the right thing and has the best interest of the country at heart. Using the most effective platform, regardless of whether you view it as ironic, hypocritical, or anything else, makes sense to me. How else are people actually going to hear his message? I’d rather someone use their (relative) fame to share the message he is sharing than the message many others have.

Judge a book by its cover much?

Jocko is a guy that has been there done that. Retired special forces guy, an all around badass that goes out of his way to help others be more self aware-BTW, which is the gist of his message. If you can get past your bias...he has a pretty good TED talk too as I recall.

I applaud the guy for leveraging his popularity and experience to make some $$.....he isn't selling anything here as you insinuate.

My guess is I made more working in a restaurant while in college college than he made risking his life on missions out of country in the military keeping us safe.

The funniest part of this is guys tossing insults around behind a keyboard....

Ya, but just like everything else out there in the world........do you really need to read or hear something from somebody else to know what the actual reality is??? Your Biden example is an easy obvious one, and I'll give you that there are things out there that aren't quite as obvious initially. But it generally doesn't take much deductive reasoning to figure out the truth and reality even for those. When you see a breakdown in their logic, it's pretty easy to dismiss their message as wrong to start with, or as an intentional agenda based on a false narrative.

And if one is still completely stumped with something they hear or read, follow the messenger's credibility from the past. There's a reason why there's a saying out there of "How do you know when a politician is lying........because their lips are moving". In the issue of credibility, past performance really is a good indicator of future performance. On the other hand.......if you can't figure out what the actual truth is to start with, then you'll probably just follow and believe the slew of false narratives that are being reported. Which brings us back to the main point........brainwashing.....LOL.

If you want to delve deeper into how actual brainwashing operates(more subtle than you imagine) look into a dude called Anthony Napoleon. He was a former PSYOP specialist , lives in La Jolla and now runs jury selection consultancy. Warning, if you enjoy sleeping soundly at night avoid his book “Shadow Men”.
So you’re saying that it might not be coincidence that I read this while at jury duty?😉😳

LOL. Remember when duck dynasty became a TV show and before long every wal-mart end cap had a duck dynasty branded something or other? Jocko is getting to be kind of like that on a smaller scale but remains very likable. Podcast, leadership training, author, energy drinks, clothes, etc.

He fills a niche. His book on leadership is exactly what most business owners and managers need to read. Of the clothing products I've bought, it wasn't because it was Jocko endorsed it. It was because similar foreign made product failed. I've bought the clothing items from Origin because i figured "why not try it"

This idea is spot on and the very reason our population is becoming more and more liberal as well as almost completely incapable of resisting the constant barrage of marketing causing you to buy ever more hunting gear you dont need. Heck, guys now replace bows every year, packs that are two years old, need the latest offering from First Lite cause you know those pants you already own arent as good even though you used them all last season, etc.

Hunt and live more quietly, turn the devices off. And for the love of god DO NOT give your 13 yo a cell phone they DONT need one.

It is why our nation is becoming more and more polarized. The brain washers are doing a great job if people think only the “other side” is affected.

I understand my post reads to be pretty negative on him but I like Jocko. Not a fanboy, never bought a product of his beyond an audiobook, but i definitely enjoy listening to what he has to say and that he's making products in the US.
