Looking at the .223s. Is it a better option to get the 16” barrel and have it threaded or a longer barrel cut to 16” and threaded? Might be a stupid question but want to make sure.

It cost me $135.00 to have the barrel cut and threaded.

I’ll pass on those.
To each their own - my family, close hunting friends, and I have killed somewhere around 27-28 big game animals the last handful of years with 139 scenars (6.5 creed) and 150 scenars (7 rem mag)...They are accurate, easy to load for killing bullets.

How were the blood trails?

I haven’t had any trouble finding accurate loads with any bullet I wanted to use.

Threading is usually cheaper than cut/crown/threading (not major difference but it is usually cheaper) so if you want 16" and can get that length off the get go for the same price or less then go for it.

I'd buy a new rifle but exact 0 rifles they are offering are 10 twist 300WSM and I just bought another Howa Mini Action in 223.

I bought a Lite stainless 6.5 PRC a few days ago. I hope I like it. My Lapua brass should be here about the time the rifle gets here. Thinking about feeding it 142 grain ABLR bullets. We’ll see how it goes.
I pulled the trigger on one of these last week. Plan on using the 147 ELDm or 156 Berger. I have a bunch of 130 TMKs loaded for my 6.4 CM.

I'm trying to contemplate between the 6.5cm and 6.5 PRC in the Rough Tech superlight. The CM is a 20" barrel, and the PRC is 24". I am going to put a TBAC Ultra 9 6.5 on it. The CM is $200 cheaper. Decisions.

I recently purchased a roughtech in 6.5 prc. It’s a shooter and I love it so far, but it’s not exactly lightweight, and I’m coming in just under 9 lbs with a Trijicon credo 2.5-15 on top. Will eventually be moving to an ag composites stock and likely a proof profit to trim some weight. Not sure if the one you’re looking at is the same, but the d18 barrel on the roughtech adds some weight

I picked up a 6.5 PRC for a moose hunt and its knocking me off my POA even with a Rokstok.

I was only able to get another 200fps out of reloads too, with 57gr powder instead of 43.5gr on my CM...

Get the 6.5 CM.

Just ordered the 6.5cm with 20" barrel. Thanks for the help. Thats a smoking deal. Talked to them and they ordered a bunch of Tikka rifles, got a good deal on them due to purchase size, and are passing it on.
