Well just got off the phone with Nate from Eurooptic. He reached out, was super helpful, they are sending me the rifle that was advertised and refunding me the $50 transfer fee. Told me there must of been a disconnect/miscommunication somewhere with different departments, there was nothing intentionally deceiving on there end and apologized for any issues.
Thanks for sending that email @Ucsdryder and anyone else that reached out, I imagine that had a part in getting the call.
You’re welcome. Everything I’ve ever heard or seen about them has been positive. Seem like there was some kind of disconnect. Glad it got taken care of.

I want to clarify what happened with the recent Tikka model listing issue. On Friday, November 8th, we were informed by another customer that certain Tikka models, which previously included threading, were no longer being shipped with that feature. We immediately escalated this information to our web content team to update the listing, but since the team had left the office for the afternoon, the correction wasn’t made until Monday morning.

I fully understand how frustrating this situation must have been, and I apologize for any confusion it caused. I want to assure you that there was absolutely no intent to deceive. The timing of your email about the missing threading feature coincided with our update efforts, which may have understandably given the impression that we were changing the listing specifically in response to your inquiry. In reality, we were working to correct the listing across the board as soon as we learned of the manufacturer's changes.
At EuroOptic, we pride ourselves on standing by our commitment to customers. If there’s ever an error on our end, we do everything we can to make it right—even if it means taking a loss on the sale. In this case, you deserve to receive the rifle as it was originally described and as you expected, and we’ll ensure that you do, even if we don’t make a dime.

Thank you for giving us the chance to address this, and please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

I can see how it probably looked shady but glad it was just a disconnect/miscommunication on their end. I've easily spent north of $20,000 with them and have had nothing but good experiences so far.

O it forsure did, funny how they were determined to make it right afterwards. Typical though from many companies now a days. Glad they finally took care of you though

Miscommunication was that they didn't know about this thread at the time. I buy a LOT from EuroOptic and have the CC bills to prove it, this is something that definitely sours me on buying firearm from them.

EuroOptic is my first call whenever I need guns/optics. When I received a Revic rangefinder that didn't work out of the box. They overnighted a replacement that day. Sent me a postage paid return label for the defective RF. They have been nothing but excellent to deal with for me.

Live close to EuroOptic just was there last week and picked up a Sitka jacket on sale for practically 1/3 the price normally. Bought quite a few rifles there and have always had excellent service from knowledgeable sales people. Bought a Christensen rifle there a few months ago and grabbed a scope base off the rack. When checking out the cashier looked at the scope base and told me the screws were the wrong thread pitch and it would not work. He went and got me the correct base and all is good. Saved me a return trip and a lot of hassle trying to get the wrong screws started. So my experience with EuroOptic has definitely been positive.

Seems like there should have been an email sent to the CS team about the potential for issues related to the website description error. Is something like that not typical? Never worked CS.

I know since covid customer service is a thing of the past. I've always had good luck with a few companies, one being Eurooptic. I purchased a tikka through their sale, a 16in 308 that was threaded with adapter. I get a called from my FFL to go pick it up, it is still boxed up and in plastic but take a look through the plastic, right model, right caliber, right barrel length. I get home and pull it completely out, it is not threaded. The entire reason I purchased this model over the cheaper base t3x is because it was threaded. It was about $170 more, but where I live, it's a pain to ship guns and gunsmithing is suspect, so would be over $170 in shipping/effort/gunsmithing to get a base model threaded. Should I of checked before leaving? yes, I assumed everything else was correct so that part would be.

Here is where it gets interesting. I send an email last night explaining the issue, send the link to the rifle I purchased with threading being mentioned in the specs 2 different places, and ask them to get back to me on how to proceed. I don't hear from them in the morning so I call after lunch. Right before I call, I'm pulling everything up for reference and the link to the rifle, the description is now changed. Someone saw my email and changed the description, taking out mention of threaded barrel from two places, and then did not contact me. I call, they tell me there is no listing discrepancy and no one changed the description on the website, nothing to be done. Luckily, just from being a cynical person, last night I took pictures of the description and a video of me scrolling the link (so you could see their SKU number and description, couldn't get both in same picture). I send that to them, they deliberate for a bit, then tell me they can send me the rifle I ordered, I just need to pay the difference ($100 and shipping and another $50 transfer fee). At this point I want to just return the rifle, which they say I can. I ask them what they can do about the $50 I am out on a transfer fee, nothing, so I'm out $50 and the hassle of packing/shipping it back for their listing mistake. Overall they were not helpful and honestly deceitful, which this is 100% not the way I was expecting the call to go, I've had great experiences with them in the past.

I'm not sure the purpose of this other than I felt like b*tching and the entire ordeal was surprising to me. I'm out $50, not the end of the world, but doesn't make it right.... Thought I'd share.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience. I always had good dealings with Eurooptic. Seems like an honest mistake in their product description, but the way they handled your case is not very honest. They should make it good for you.

I’ve rejected 2. One had something spilled on it and it looked like a coating was flaking off. Probably ok honestly, but I was buying new and expected new. The other was supposed to have been a 1911 in 45. I got sent a 1911 in 10mm. I would have kept the 10mm had I not had 1000 rounds of 45. Neither experience of sending them back was great.

Have you consider renaming the thread to resolved instead of negative?

Glad it worked out.
I was getting on to do just that. I thought about deleting but going to leave it up unless the mods want to delete or lock it. It’s resolved, but doesn’t leave me feeling warm and fuzzy.
Do I think they would have given me the time of day if I wouldn’t have thought to take pictures and videos before I sent email? Probably not. Would they have reached out to me if not for the external pressure from this thread? Probably not. Everyone makes mistakes though and they’ve made it right.

Sometimes it’s as simple as getting the right person’s ear. When you said you were talking to someone that was talking to someone and putting you on hold, that would have been the time to say “can I speak to your supervisor”. I hate when I have to rely on someone else to translate my message, probably the result of years of sales.

You know I was pretty upset the other weekend when Texas was playing Vandy. They just played bad and didnt look like a championship team. Really was a bummer to what I was expecting. After talking to my brother after the game I expressed my feelings. His response was "sometimes you just have to take the ugly W, but getting the W is really all that matters, not how you got there."
