Estes Park/RMNP Celebrity Bull Split 5 Legally Hunted- Facebook Anti Hunters Lose It

The governors…..husband…..is some sort of furry, anti hunting activist, or something along those lines.
I’ll admit, I’ve pictured them spooning, getting all gitty about releasing cow killing wolves, right into cow country.

That…coupled with a mass exodus of Californians, into Denver, we’re hosed.

It was fun seeing that bull over the years.
He had quite the bugle.

Would furrys be offended, if a wolf killed the bull on the golf course?

I have to say, if that was the status of the bull when the hunter killed him, without a doubt it wasn't worth the hassle. I mean, shoot a raghorn, nobody would say a thing. To kill the giant of the park without his crown just seems stupid and that's coming from a guy who kills raghorns by the dozens.

Unit 20 can be a tough place to fill a tag...almost no accessible public land to get to the elk who would probably rather hang out in town or in the park anyway. There is the very real chance that the hunter didn't set out to target this bull (or even know he was famous) and took the opportunity that was presented to them.

Kind of a shame he was killed all broken up like that. I loved seeing pictures and videos of him, he had no fear of people being around them all year long.

I’d prefer he didn’t get killed but as long as it was legal, nothing wrong with it.

Playing devil's advocate: What if the hunter didn't realize he was killing the park mascot?

If was hunting there, I would have had zero idea about "who" that elk was other than a big, mature bull in range of my weapon.

I know the unit very well, that bull must have been right there on a small property if it was killed in Oct. The unit gets way better in the Dec and Jan season, but what's done is done. A percieved pet killed. Not that it matters, but at least they can say they weren't "Trophy Hunting" but it doesn't matter. You'e talking Boulder, Lyons, EP, all hippies/antihunting.

True story, a sow was getting agressive, into garbage, the DOW came in killed her and the cubs, no questions, boom done. Well, the neighborhood went up in arms, wanted a town meeting, invited the DOW to attend......... NOT.

20 bucks some new rule will be put in place hunting in that unit due to this? Same happened in Brainard lake........ Same people.

The social media response reflects what we are up against in Colorado. The nationally funded anti-hunting organizations have taken notice and set up shop in Colorado along with plenty of state level orgs also. They see it as the new battleground state in the fight to eliminate hunting, fishing and trapping. If you think those comments are bad, just attend or watch on YouTube a CPW Commission meeting. They are no longer hiding behind social media accounts, they show up in person, led by the anti-hunting orgs’ paid full-time activists. A few weeks back they were making death threats against the CPW officers who euthanized the mountain lions involved in the fatal attack up there. They claim that CPW is lying and that it is “misinformation” that a mountain lion was involved. We need every hunter, angler, trapper, etc to get involved if we are going to save our outdoor heritage in this state.

Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management is on the front lines fighting for us if folks are interested.

Just a perfect microcosm of what is going on in the entire country. A small group of unhinged rabid dogs shows up, twisting the truth and trying to bully all others into submission with an organized gaslighting campaign
