Emergency shelter options

Six Moons Gatewood Cape. a poncho and a tarp. single pole but I have also hung it bwteen trees. I never leave home without it. I spend many rainy hours every year in the OR cascades sitting under my gatewood watching for a passer by.

Firebox makes an Ultralight Poncho/Hammock/Tarp that's made in USA, 9oz. There model is closely modeled from some Onsi Gear Poncho Tarps that are also worth checking out.

The Eolus in Cuben fiber from Seek Outside is my choice. Zipperless, floorless, hiking pole supported shelter. Pitches great in the Cuben fiber and weight is less than 2 pounds. I added a down quilt from Feathered Friends outa Seattle and I have a very light mobile impromptu style shelter when I'm inclined to move fast and forgo all the luxury of a standard camp.
Seek no longer makes the Eolus...
