I've always got my Sheep Tarp in my pack. Too many uses for such a small weight and space penalty to leave it at home/camp.

a tarp and a puffy orbella jacket can do a lot for sleeping well and confortable despite an emergency situation.

Six Moons Gatewood Cape. a poncho and a tarp. single pole but I have also hung it bwteen trees. I never leave home without it. I spend many rainy hours every year in the OR cascades sitting under my gatewood watching for a passer by.
