Just deer and other hunters for me but last Season was the first time I tried cameras. Last season was my first time elk hunting solo and checking cameras every few days gave me something to do. Seeing pics of elk helped me stay in the game mentally. Hard to stay sharp when you see more hunters than elk each day.

I ran a cam on a more open area last year, and got a LOT of pictures of birds. Some were cool, but it was so many bird pictures!

I’ve never used trail cameras but thinking about getting some. When I do get some they will be for my backyard and some remote game trails in the winter. I know of many wallows but don’t see the use of that information with photos

Someone should have a couple photos of me from 2021 since I didn't notice the camera until after I'd looked the wallow over.

"...checking cameras every few days gave me something to do"

This was something I never even thought about until we put a bunch of cameras out; every Saturday I would definitely get the miles in checking cameras, and it made it a lot more fun getting through the summer months. Now in Utah I use cameras all year long! 😉

Bears! man i have a wallow i sit that has elk come through it from time to time... but watching the bears come in and roll around and then get out covered in mud and then go scratch their backs on the nearby tree is hilarious....

I think you can out a trail cam just about anywhere in the elk woods and a bear will find it and mess with it

Best thing about this wallow setup never a person, some great bulls, but when wolves frequent it not as much activity. Had a spike give me a great dancing video one year🤣
